Might be buying my S3 today

Used cars usually attract a much higher interest rate though I think 10.9% was advertised at my local dealer recently. Even on a new car APR is around 6.9% which is the norm, so not quite sure how you’d get to 3.3% unless it was a personal loan.
that would be on new

No idea what a balloo payment is, dont think I've ever heard of it, but it its cheaper I'll look into it.
part of the Audi PCP finance, so car would have a GFV (guaranteed future value of x), you pay over 2/3/4/5 years the amount outside of this. At the end of the term, you either:

- P/X car (should get higher than GFV towards deposit).
- Hand back car to Audi
- Pay "balloon" payment (GFV) to then own the car outright.

Well my plan is to put a massive deposit down, pay the rest off in 4 years, then keep the car.

I think my best paymemt method is just to get a personal loan.

Sorry, balloon. Basically the GFV - final payment amount.

So this is what the dealer told me about the interest when I purchased. 6.4% on repayment amount ( so Total Cost - Discount - Deposit - Final Payment Amount(GFV)) and then 3.3% on the Final Payment Amount.

So higher interest on the repayment and standard on the GFV - take a higher GFV
Lower interest on repayment and standard on GFV, lower the GFV.

Hope that makes sense.

Audi do promotions seen a local ad 3-2% to 6-2% used
That’s good I think the lowest I’ve seen at my local dealer was about 5% on used approved cars but offers throughout the year are few and far between.

Although with promotions they tend to inflate the price of the car in the first place to make up for the lower APR, so after any negotiation you are just back to where the car would’ve been priced at originally :tearsofjoy:

If you are putting massive deposit down, and over 4 years, surely you may as well go new, if you are trying to keep under £350 p/m

I didn't put a massive deposit (no idea what you think massive is) on my Q5, and pay less than £60 p/m on a £40k+ new car

A colleague at work bought a new S3, with decent spec new, and pays under £250 p/m, this was with £7k deposit

If I get it new I'll still end up paying more though, the spec on the used one I may be going for is: mythos black, sunroof, tech pack, privacy glass, folding mirrors, parking system plus, sound and comfort pack.

Its 33,500 will be around an extra 1k with the loan fees. If I get that same spec new I'll be paying like 3k more even after the Carwow discount...would love to get it new though.

Gonna put in around 20k deposit then pay the rest off over 4 years.

Nice spec car, but surely with interest rate on new half of used if it is more it will be like £20 p/m. Putting £20k down and paying rest over 4 years will be very low payments.

For £3k more, I personally would go new, but whatever works for you.

Oh and CarWow discount should be a good starting point, but you should be able to do quite a bit better than that. Forgot to say, surely with new there is a Audi contribution towards car if on Audi Finance, which depending on model can be a fiat chunk?

Audi Finance offering £2780 deposit contribution on S3 sportback, so that pretty much covers your £3k difference. :)

6 months seam to be a crazy long wait considering the new platform car will be launched next year ?

Surely build times should be much quicker than this right now as new orders must have reduced considerably ?

6 months is the longest I have ever known build times for any Audi's ... at peak periods !

Shame you can't get a cancelled build slot or ready made car close to your spec.

Car spec sounds great by the way and white with black edition does look really nice :icon thumright:

From what I'm seeing I can get about 3,500 off through Carwow, with the Audi contribution thats around 34k I think...so yeah it might be worth getting new. Will Audi still give a contribution when paying it off with a personal loan?

As I said, I would start with CarWow, and others like drivethedeal etc, as they should be able to beat, or at least match. As far as deposit contribution, just have your personal loan lined up, and then take out the Audi Finance, so you get the extra £2780, then just settle the finance within the 14 days from personal loan, job done.

Agree @Snake Pliskin, sounds crazy those build times. I would have dealer look for comparable spec, that is what I always do :thumbs up:

Totally ... & you could land on a car with all the extras you do want plus a few others & end up paying less money ... it can happen with stock cars that they are very eager to do deals on  :icon thumright:

no worries, good luck, and play hard ball, as you have the cash, so can really drive a hard bargain. Have figures ready, and stick to them (unless they go lower of course) :thumbs up:

No Audi will only give you the deposit contribution if you take out the PCP. However, you can do what I did and take out the PCP after putting a large deposit down and settle the remaining balance within 14 days and you get to keep the deposit contribution given to you :tearsofjoy:

The car wow offer says "Includes an additional finance deposit contribution from Audi of £1,780."

I pay just over £400 and put in £5k, that was with a decent discount at the time too.

You got a brand new S3 Black Edition for around 33 grand. :openmouth:
Wow and double WOW!
Cue the people saying "I paid less than that" :D

Edit.
Just noticed it's sportback you've got and not saloon.....but you probably have a few options on it. :)
I paid £29000 for my black edition. :footy:However I did get the £4000 scrappage.
