I wonder what there time on on normal fuel would be. Surprised they didn’t do this considering that’s what 90% of people would be using

Or even 99% of people!

99 in a Stage 1 RS3 is going to be about 11.1 at the drag strip. Infact, that’s exactly what APR quoted when they released the 10.55 time.

I don’t think there are any Stage 2 times yet.

Car is running race fuel.
Also has Wagner intercooler, eventuri intake and the seats are stripped out of it.....

Stage 2 requires DP removal and a dedicated Stage 2 tune.

You sure seats were stripped out? I sat in it down the 1/4 and didn’t notice the rear seats were missing lol. Maybe they did, I just didn’t notice

I know my onions mate I’m merely taking the ****. Hardly apples with apples saying it’s stage1 running that time when it’s got bolt ons and weight reduction. Stick that stage1 on a stock car with 98ron fuel then see what it does, much of muchness as I bet most of these tunes will be there or thereabouts with each other.

APR have just released the details on their RS3 maps for the facelift - https://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_upgrade_25tfsi_ea855_evo.html

Looks like 476bhp for 98 RON, pretty similar to MRC and REVO then and can only get the 500+ with race fuel and supporting mods.

That’s odd as when I spoke to them yesterday, the first car to be tuned with no mods at all made 508 on the dyno. I also advised them I’d spoken to Revo and was swithering as who to use when it came to going stage 1. I mentioned Revo were achieving numbers circa 480 and he said confidently that they would achieve 500. Odd.

Numbers look a little strange to me as Arin has been telling everyone that the Stage 1 whp figures were around 530 on E85. Certainly over 500 going by their teaser at the weekend. Looking at the charts, they’re quoting 485whp officially and only 542bhp on E85.

No Stage 2 either.

Yes Roberto’s car made 509bhp on 99 fuel Stage 1, he sent me the dyno print.

Although he does have FMIC and Intake, so may be the reason for the strong stage 1 numbers there.

So what did Roberto's car make on the race fuel file that he was running ?
And i'm assuming that figure was at flywheel not at wheels ?

Yeh, but as I’ve said lol, I was told he made 500 BEFORE he had the mods fitted, as when I mentioned Revos figures, was a passing comment that APR had achieved significantly better

I’m hoping to get my Revo Stage1 on the Dyno tomorrow if they can get me in. Be good to see what numbers she come out with although TBF I’m not that bothered as the increase in performance is incredible

E85 wasn’t tested on the dyno on Friday, only 99. He filled up with E85 yesterday at the track so the E85 figures are unknown.

APR U.K. are doing a live Facebook Stage 1 dyno session now so will be interesting to see what that car does. Think it’s going to need an intercooler to go over 500hp personally. Standard cooler is pretty poor.

I'm booked in for the APR tune including before and after dyne on Wednesday, I'll put a new thread together for it. Bought a Dragy too and got a confirmed 3.61 secs 0-60 completely stock so I'm looking forward to seeing the results after the remap.

Lucky man! What’s the cost for the APR tune?

£350 better?! Hmmmmmmm...fancies APR until cjm drooped the 950 bombshell

How else are Apr supposed to finance all those drums of E85 they've been burning through in the UK :tearsofjoy:

QS Tuning have advertised that the APR Stage 1 map will get you to 542BHP, stock hardware.

EDIT: with E85 fuel, 475-491bhp on pump fuel.

APR have lost the plot.

U.K. pricing is confirmed at £950 + VAT = £1140

The numbers are not what was being banded about, the gains are no better than any other tuners. Arin stating that the whp figures were way north of 500, when infact they are only 485whp (E85)

There isn’t a U.K. specific tune either, the 98 option would be our best even though we can’t actually buy 98 ron fuel here in the U.K. Vpower and Momentum are 99 octane fuels so the 98 file would have to do as we wouldn’t get away with the 100 or 102 files.

No TCU tune.
No Stage 2 tune.

This is a big fat fail and it’s only getting a little momentum because everything being published is on super crazy expensive £5 a litre E85. It may be cheap and readily available in the US but here in the U.K. it’s £131 a pop for 25 litres.

So if you want Stage 2, it’s going to cost the best part of £2k presuming another £200 or so for the S1 to S2 upgrade and then £700 or so for the TCU upgrade.

With Revo you have option of running 98Ron map, 100Ron map, 98Ron low boost map for track days to help keep the temperatures down in relation to heat soak, and stock map.

APR need to get there **** in one sock as there’s alsorts of figures flying around and that price for stage1 is absolute comical lol, good luck flogging that one!

Revo it is then, you’d have to be mad to pay that sort of cash, especially when there’s nothing to differentiate themselves from the other tunes. I don’t see how they can charge almost 400 quid more. Mental.

Will it be MRC for you now, Leo?

They don’t have a switchable TTRS map available yet and with Mihnea literally never there any more ( to tune or to rectify any issues ) it’s not an option at the minute.

Looking to be a bit of a nightmare. Not a hope in hell am I paying £2k for a Stage 2 with APR though. They’ve lost the plot there.

All this talk off the bigger gains with E85 fuel gets me excited. I’m thinking another trip to MRC is on the cards to get the switchable map and the new mods tweaked into the map

I’m fancying APRs new turbo inlet which is huge compared to the OEM but no point in getting this if I was not taking a trip back to MRC to get it tweaked in!

Hi Billy,
Do you have any more info on the APR inlet? Can’t see anything on their website relating to the FL RS3 other than the map info from yesterday. Interesting that MRC said they thought this is where gains could be made on the inlet side as opposed to induction kits.

Billy you already have the Eventuri which has a larger turbo inlet path. Doubtful you would see any more with the APR part.

Also, MRC don’t tune for E85, they tune for 109 race fuel (there is a difference, E85 is better) - Still, it should get you Upto around 550-560ps going by Daves car.

Callum, this is all you need (+Panel)

I think he means the big cast elbow off the turbo, they posted it on facebook a couple weeks back.

Oh okay, haven’t seen that. Knowing APR it will probably cost about £1k then

Edit, take it you’re on about this?...

Yes, that will be the one. Doug reckoned that this was the most restrictive area of the inlet system. Thanks for the info.
