Facelift Soz for probably reapeating an old post,,,,,,,,,,,, auto/dynamic ?

On my tour of bony Scotland I played with the drive select settings. IMO the car seemed to perform better in Auto, obviously sounded better in Dynamic but didn't feel as "nippy". Not sure if it's just in my head or has others have similar findings.
I even tried Efficiency and it did feel different to Auto, the coasting (undecided about that) and the gear up-change were noticeable.
So my question is this, is there any "real world" difference between Auto/Dynamic/Comfort ?
PS, I don't have mag ride either.

I find Dynamic in my S4 a lot more responsive than effiency mode for example. Another thing I’ve noticed is that what ever drive mode I’m in There’s very little difference in fuel economy. So now I just keep it in Dynamic

. As long as I’m driving sensibly Dynamic really doesn’t effect fuel economy.

Cheers fella, I'm wondering whether the drive select modes are just a gimmick.

Dynamic setting in my S5 is a lot more responsive than either comfort or efficiency modes. Auto is as it states, the car allegedly changes modes dependant on your driving style at the time.

What about sport mode? Is it the same

What about sport mode? Is fuel economy roughly the same with the other drive select? I find sport mode so so fun.

Without MR you won't notice that much difference in dynamic. It does firm up the steering though and auto selects "sport" gearbox so will hold the gears for longer.

Re sport mode above, one click of TC gives you that eg slightly looser traction when pushing on.

On my previous Golf, so chances are Audi is the same driving modes also effected how much power things like aircon, adaptive lights etc consumed. So in Eco the aircon was returned right down to have minimum effect on the mpg, in real terms I never saw any real improvement in mpg.

This is my preferred selection also.

Question though: With the talk of forcing open exhaust flaps for disconnection, I was under the impression that if you left the car in dynamic, it would self-revert to 'auto' on start-up.

Do you think you need to re-select Dynamic on each start-up to reap the full benefits (noise, sharper steering, accelerator sensitivity) of that mode, or is this theory aligned solely to ensuring exhaust flaps do as one hopes for disconnection purposes?

Biggest things you will notice
Economy - Costs whenever you lift off the accelerator (does not after braking)
Massive throttle delay
Gear changes are earlier and also slightly clunkier.
Lower revs on idle
Stop start is higher prioritised.

Comfort - Less throttle delay
No coasting
Quicker gear changes but still smooth
Holds gears when slowing down rather than coasting

Dynamic - Faster more solid gear changes
Downshifts early
Holds onto gears a lot longer
Louder
Makes you smile

You also have gearbox settings aswell, I leave mine in normal automatic drive when in economy or comfort. And when in Dynamic I always drive in Manual mode but selected into sport before selecting manual
