Hi guys apologies for the new thread I have read to death now but need a definitive answer please.

Lowered on Eibach springs will my s3 8l cope with 20mm spacers at back and 12mm spacers at front?

Thanks.

Hey buddy,

I’ve got Bilstein B8 Shocks and Apex 30mm springs, running 20mm spacers on the back and 10mm spacers on the front. I’d highly recommend that you get some adjustable rear tie bars though, once you’ve lowered the car your camber will be completely out of whack! Getting your tracking done is essential in my opinion too, which will prevent obvious wear and tear on your tyres, parts, etc and prevent any unwanted tyre rubbing.

For example I had a lot of toe in on the rears causing some rubbing on the arches.

depends on what wheels you've got fitted; can't be definitive without knowing that

Do you have the 18 inch wheels mate and do you have any pics mate?

Here you go buddy

That’s rubbing on the arch before I got it aligned! To much toe in caused it. Can’t emphasise enough getting your car 4 wheel aligned is important and getting rear adjustable tie arms.

This is it setup up correctly to my specifications, I covered this in a thread a couple years ago.

Hope this helps

Looks awesome mate.

I already have the adjustable tie arms at the back. Also lowered on Apex at the moment but it’s just completely slammed down and looks chav.

Also what size spacers do you have on front?

Would 12mm spacers at front be too much mate?

I think 12mm spacers on the front will be fine, I’m guessing you’ve already bought them? Some on here have run 15mm on the fronts in the past. Also depends on the camber you’ve got set up on the front too, negative camber will make the tyres tuck into the arches a little.

Yeh bought 12 and 20mm today was told 10mm are not hub centric. I currently have 5mm which just don’t cut it.

Here’s how mine sits at moment just doesn’t seem right it’s far too low and crashy

Hmmmm, your car is sat very low! What springs are you running on it? Not cut standard I hope.

These are Apex 30mm springs mate and mine and yours are a world apart.

Oh right, interesting! Can you send us a picture of your car from the back? So we can see what your camber looks like. I’m just wondering if your camber is causing the wheels to be really tucked in at the top.... are you getting any rubbing on the inside of the tyres?

Camber isn’t as bad as I was expecting to be fair! Ive seen a lot worse... i.e. mine when I first fitted my suspension lol. As you’ve already bought the spacers, it’s just trial and error now. Fit them on the car and see what your wheels do and go from there. Sorry I can’t be much more help. The pros amoung us might be able to shed some more light. As georgieS3 said he’s got 15mm on the front and 25mm on the rears with no issues.

wouldn't mind seeing that actually. I need to change my setup, B8 w H&R springs. Ideally i'd like to replace like with like but the B12 setup (B8 w Eibach springs) saves you ~£200 vs buying shocks and springs separately, physical difference being 5mm on the rear springs

Sorry guys really busy, will try get a couple of pics before I head to work in the morning, to be honest I look at a few set ups with H&R springs and I do think they look near perfect.

I’m very happy with mine, rides perfect now. It’s just that extra 5-10mm

Pics to follow!
