Hey peeps,

So car was still starting fine apart from over the past 3 days, had 3 separate occasions where it sounded like flat battery, but then started next try. I recently replaced starter motor so thought I better replace battery if showing low reading. Well, had the car for over 3 years and it's a 2001 1.8T took it to local Halfords to get battery checked as I didn't have a multi meter. Anyways looks like it might be a bit on the low side, so I thought I better change it anyways as I have no idea how old it might be.
Strange thing is, it looks like an OEM original, I thought I'd post a couple of pics and just really curious to know how long a battery would really last???? Has an expiry date on it of 2009! Anyway I know it's a bit sad, but found it incredible if it lasted from 2008/9 until 2018, so thought someone on here might have a battery fettish!

Let's see how a Halfords battery does :-0

I've seen a battery course a fire that burn down a garage in seconds because it was "out of date" and left to the side for year's...cost the guy 4 customer cars and a motorbike, property was completely gone after a canister shot out of the building up about a mile and landed on the north bound carriageway closing the A1 for 24 hr while the fire was brought under control. 2012 I think it was, never seen an Asian man turn white before, was such a nice bloke, never seen his since.
He had no insurance.
