Just heard from a dealer that the order book is now closed for the RS3. Anyone else aware of this?

I beleive that this is for 2018 orders as uk allocation has been reached. Dealer informed me this morning that it does not effect MY2019

i was also told this yesterday by birmingham audi is the a new spec for my19 or just new colours ???

As noted above, Audi will release one more run out model in MY-19 spec, ahead of the brand new A3/S3/RS3 platform due next year.

So expect a few nice extras to be included in the base spec, black edition, new colours etc.

The usual thing :icon thumright:

@SNAKE nogaro is the rumour!

It is still likely to be hugely expensive and I certainly wouldn't have one if I was trading a PFL. My 16 plate was lovely and an £8k loss over 2 years was acceptable. Thoroughly enjoying my RS4 and Daily driver 310PS S3, feels very much like my PFL RS3 in many ways but more economical! Hill hold now standard and BE version adds nice bits for little extra cost.

Yeah ... it's alright for you too swanking around in your RS4's - all modern tech etc lol :tonguewink: :sunglasses: :icon thumright:

Nogaro as an optional colour would be awesome :thumbs up:

I'm the same RG ... just could not justify changing now from a 16 plate pre-FL to a face lift.

I'm still enjoying my car and will likely hang onto it for longer than my usual 3 years and then see what the new platform S3 is like when that is eventually released.

That said, I am keeping a wtchful eye on the new Merc A35 & 45 to see what I think of those when they are released.
I know they are not everyone's cup of tea, but I am quite drawn to them.
Will most likley wait it out for the new Audi though :)

Read the next one is going to be 450 brake.....anyway annoyed about flaking exhaust paint on the Mrs RS3 with only 350 miles on the clock!!

For sure it will be around 450bhp to one up the Merc A45 again.

The 2019 Merc a45s is rumoured to pack 450hp and a claimed 3.7 sec 0-60. I’m considering a new 2019 Rs3 but I will wait to see what comes out of the Merc camp.

I can't see either the new A45 or RS3 making 450hp.
That's a big increase on the the current A45 at 370ish.
Eventual new RS3 will be 425ish.
If you look at previous history these two manufacturers generally up the power by 20-30ish over previous models.
I reckon the new A45 will pack around 410hp roughly 10up on the RS which is pretty much the way these two have gone at each other over the previous years.
You've also got to think about these small models stepping on the toes of their big brother's RS4 RS5 C43 C63 etc.

And if you think the new model RS will be out in 2019 then think again!

Agree, no chance of new RS next year!

A45 I'm guessing will be 420bhp. A lot out of a 2.0l 4-pot and will probably not sound great. Should still be a hell of car, though.

I'm not sure about this BHP/PS competition.. M-B is 'merde' in comparison to Audi. Surely it's the whole package you should consider not just bragging about how big your 'w1lly' is!

ive spoken to audi again today and they think the my19 audi rs 3 order book will open august this will have new spec and or colours (but this won't be a new model ) but they can't tell me anymore second i find anything out will post it I'm on a demo day next friday so will ask then

I really can't see Audi making any meaningful changes. They've thrown a stack of cash at it already with the new engine and chassis tweaks. As mentioned above, it will be a new colour option and some kind of new option pack with some options included at a nice price.

410-420 sounds about right for the new a45 but it will also have the power adder of the electric booster motor.

If Audi and Merc can get the hybrid configuration working it would make for a stellar performance package in a small car. Use the the electric booster to get the car moving off the line fast and then slap on a big turbo for power in the mid range and top end.

With Listers? Me too!! I’m out in the RS4.

Also agree we won't see a new platform RS3 next year - likely just the A3 and maybe early signs of the S3.

The Merc A45 will be out and that will be the new platform - so that could attract some buyers (myself included).

Audi are always last to supply their models and the waiting can be tedious with actual dates very unclear at times - so you just have no idea when a model will be released for sure.

Why TX?

Does the paint chip easily/exhaust flake/rattle/tyres wear funny and grow eggs at the first sign of uneven tarmac

Nah I hate it already ;)

My favourite in the range is the RS4 as a platform, V8 is by far my favourite engine. I’m one of those old time fans who is against the V6, I’m not sure how I will take it on the drive haha! It needs more noise stock :(

You are all looking too far. Actually, the stop is only to change the production lines because of the emission standard that changed on September. The RS3 is then provided with a particle filter + subjected to the much more stringent WLTP standard. It will be available again from October.

Old time fan?? Then you must know the original RS4 had a bi-turbo V6?

Have they used this engine then in the new rs4/5 mate?

The original was the B5 1999-2001. 2.7 bi-turbo V6.

New one has a 2.9 bi-turbo V6 co-developed with Porsche.

Looks awesome mate :icon thumright:

So many nice touches to the exterior styling - the flared vents on the side panels being one very cool addition

The interior is also a class above.

It will be interesting to see what the next platform S3/RS3 looks like - no one does interiors like Audi :sunglasses:
