I heard a whining noise took of the timing belt cover.. and this.. it looks like it’s eaten away the engine mount ?
Any help ?

Looks like its catching the covers or something... has it been done recently?

I had similar when I did a belt on mine as I managed to bend a tab a bit close trying to put the plastic top belt cover back on

It’s touching the engine mount some how? It’s made a mark on it.. it was done about 6months ago and it’s started running out of no where do you think I could maybe take it apart and put back together without needing to buy a whole new kit?

you are fricken lucky that hasn't snapped otherwise that's an engine in the rubbish bin.
How on earth is it touching the engine mount? I assume you are talking about the post between the water pump and tensioner? has the belt suddenly stretched enough for the adjuster to push it round that far?

why does it look like the engine mount is not in the same place is it was last time, you can see the silver circle mark from where the bolt was before. I assume it's definitely not moving / loose?

if the water pump and dampener are okay, you can undo the engine mount and manipulate a new belt without totally removing the engine mount. still need the engine supported though.

I need to have a proper look tomorrow, I don’t think anything is loose because the timing belt feels tight like no slack at all.
Do you think the timing belt is toast? Or re used able? It’s been done not to long ago.

The timing belt is absolutely knackered. The 9 year and 55k old one I took off my TT looked like new. That is scraping on something.

Update
Taking apart things today I discovered the engine mount bracket was loosely connected to the block, upon inspection the top right bolt has snapped inside the block and the top left, where the bolt threads in has completely snapped the bolt doesn’t even screw in anymore.. so I have one bolt holding the engine.. what are my options ? Is it a scrap job/ new engine?

Get the engine mount out the way and remove the broken bolts, they should come out quite easily. Its a concern as I just changed my timing belt and didn't replace the stretch bolts. It makes you wonder whether one snapped when it was fitted but they didn't tell you and then the two couldn't support the engine.

Run a tap through the bolt holes in the block, buy new bolts and should be good...

Don't force any bolts in thinking they will cut in... they won't :)
