Hi all,
Can anybody recommend a turbo exchange supplier, I’m not looking for an upgraded one or a billet but want a quality unit, GaS and ECP have come back with some decent prices but can’t tell me who’s parts are in them. Obviously I can get one from TPS but they are pricey.

No personal experience but allot of people rate Midland Turbo, they do porting, put billet wheels in and other stuff too if you ask (which I definitely would/may do at some point).

Thanks people, a few calls to make now, any suggestions as to how I can actually test to see if the turbo is on its way, I was more than happy with it as no obvious oil seepage ofr drastic power loss or indeed smoke, I have had doubt put in my mind by the re-mappers who have basically said at that mileage your turbo is the weakest link and with a map could well fail, are they just being over cautious.
 
Take it the turbo's off the car? I'm not the most experienced in checking but I usually try to see how much wobble/play is in the wheel (just apply light pressure, a small amount is ok/normal), inspect how the wheel looks (do the blades have chunks missing due to debris hitting them) and make sure the wheel isn't hitting the housing at any point while it spins.

Just realised yours is the one people Mr Muscle clean and stuff too so maybe something one of those threads say might be of more use as off the top of my head I can't recall what they try fix with it.
 
No turbo is still in the car and is being used daily, all the doubt started when I took it to a Revo agent to talk about a remap and it’s just gone on from there really, I know it’s not any sort of test but when the pipe was off to do the cat delete we did try and look for play and although there was some it was very minimal.
 
I think I might just do the map and see, only concern is if I do blow the turbo from here to kingdom come, what other damage do I do !!
 
Not much on these motors mate, just need the intercooler off/cleaned and a new turbo on... and by this I mean bigger turbo and intercooler fitting :wink: the only way is up.
