As you may have seen my A4 Black Edition was delivered today.
Having installed be MyAudi app and connected to the vehicle it’s telling me that the AdBlue range is 1461 miles, surly they put more than that in at the factory?

I have the 24ltr tank

Thoughts ?

I believe its the supplying dealer that tops up the ad-blue during the PDI, so peoples distance covered before topping up varies massively depending on how much or how little the dealer bothers to put in (plus driving style / engine size will make a difference too), we were lucky it seems and our standard 12ltr must have been brimmed by the dealer as we got the 2000mile top up warning after 10k miles, see pic.

Others only managed 4-5k miles before needing to put more in - to be honest I'd take that range of 1,461miles with a pinch of salt, as I say the first warning to top up came up on ours with 2000miles to go - so if the MMI app is correct then you should already be seeing a warning on the MMI in the car anyway.

Enjoy the new car - looks great.

Thanks Nick, I've just spoke to the supplying dealer and they told me that there is only 1ltr in from factory and that as part of the PDI the tank is filled and that's for all cars, Audi UK Customer services just told me this too.

The car is going back to the dealer to be filled FOC, they could have 'missed it' during PDI.
Grrrr !

Andy.

Andy, judging by lack of range some have experienced I think quite a few dealers "forget" to fill up the ad-blue when doing their PDI, our current B9 Avant quattro is on its way tomorrow (end of lease) and a new B9 Allroad is arriving to replace it so I'll be checking the Ad-Blue level too as we've specced the 24ltr tank this time.

Apologies for hijacking the thread but what engine are you going for in the Allroad Nick, another 3.0 TDI 218?

Sadly not this time, as it's a lease from our own company (as opposed to being an allowance of salary as an employee or PCP) we couldn't get the figures down to where we need them as the pricing has changed - but we've managed to get a 2.0 TDi 190 Allroad for less than we are currently paying for our 3.0 TDI 218 avant, which is good going, plus the standard spec is now much better than when we got our first B9 (ordered Jan 2016 - delivered May 2016)... I did push to get an S4 instead but as we need to lease 3 new cars for our employees this year (was only 1 last time) I wasn't able to justify it to the trouble and strife (who's a director too).

Managed to ease the pain of losing the company V6 family wagon though by swapping our 2nd car, a much loved MX-5 1.8 iS for a 986 Boxster S though - so now have a 3.2 6 cylinder fun car instead of a 3.0 6 cylinder family car, which suits me just fine...
