What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

I think its a good thing but I can see possible situations where garages may fail cars when they may not really be a fail, just to get the extra repair work and using the catergories to justify things.......or am I just being cynical ...

No I think your completely right. Certain garages are always trying to get money out of customers for things that really could of made it another 6/12 months before needing replacing.

Just got back from another MOT and the old bus sailed through with no issues at all, so a happy chap today, nice to know the old bus still has some life left in it.:yahoo:

Today I fitted new Front Suspension Top Arms. Not very exciting, but there you go........ :rugby:
Took a lot of trouble to make sure they were at the correct angle before Torquing them up. Need to look at the rear camber bolts next & then a proper Hunter alignment will be on the cards! Woop!

looking good there is that some sort of portable lift or fixed in place id kill to have something like that must make life so much easier working on the A4

Hi Martin - Yes its a portable Electic Hydraulic Lift - Probably THE most useful 'Tool' I have ever bought! One of the things in life that prompts the thought 'How did I EVER manage before this ????'
It is portable, but not easily as it weighs 3/4 tonne! Even with the Castors on it, it still takes a lot of effort to move it. It gets used a lot, brilliant for when you need all 4 wheels off at the same time. :pride:

Hi Martin, Rob - The hoist I have cost around £1300 delivered. Believe me, it's the best money you'll ever spend if you do all the work on your car (or cars) yourself. The days of lying on the ground under the car with the floorpan 1" from your nose are over! A definite must to help keep the family fleet going......

The rs4 did turn tits up martin, I got so naffed off last month being messed about and being put off that I just called it a day, shame really as it was a cracking car...still, got my deposit back so all wasn't lost, to be honest I don't think he really wanted to part with it in the end......
Anyway's i'm looking at B8 S4's now , but not to replace the old bus , just an addition to the collection.

thats a shame really about the b7 rs4 Rob b8 s4 are deffo worth a look 3l v6 some nice tuning opitions i think when i come to chop mine in its one id be looking at.

yep, still gutted really as it was the spec I had been looking for, I've been having another good look aswell but nothing else to be found that's comes close.
So as much as is goes against the grain with B7 rs4 i'm looking at what is around in the B8 S4 avant format and being supercharged they will still be quite lively....but not as good looking as the b7 RS4...:sob:

Fitted a £7.99 front lip/splitter I’ve had laying around for ages lol

To be fair it doesn’t look too bad and even matches the hydro-dipping on my headlights.

A mate actually did them for me, he did the hydro-dipping too.

Process was Keyed, primed, painted yellow, masked the yellow I wanted to keep, then shot black over the top, followed by clear coat.

Finally took the roof storage box out and chopped the stupid wires out since the clips/brackets are broken and the cables all chewed up. Need to make up a prop to hold it up now.

I bought a box load of bits from Awesome GTi last year so finally getting round to using some of them.

Spark plugs and new coil packs...

I've got a 034Motorsport rear anti roll bar from my old B6 ready to go on, snapped / corroded bracket bolts need removing first so booked in my local garage first thing to see if they can sort it.

Started cleaning up and painting brake calipers too, fronts done and rear tomorrow if I have time.

Booked the car in to have the new hybrid turbo fitted. Going in next Tuesday.

Hopefully will have a chance to get intercoolers, sports car and exhaust on as well. All depends on work though. But things are moving slowly

Installed the 034 rear sway bar the other night. Car is great on bends now, had good fun driving around Loch Lomond earlier.

Got a GFB diverter valve to go on tonight if I get time.

Back to work next week for 6 weeks so will try and get MOT done before I go.

Oil and filter change over the weekend, new pollen filter too. Replaced main/dipped beam bulbs, bit tight but was able to do it just by taking back covers off in the engine bay.

Today was new MOT day and it passed, not exactly with flying colours but under the new system it is a pass with 2 defects (minor) to be repaired as soon as possible and 2 advisory.
Tester said it would have been a fail last week!

Oil and filter change with Millers Nanodrive 5w 40. Also emptied the catch can. So glad I put one on, would recommend everyone fits one!

Hopefully get the hybrid and HFC on tomorrow :icon thumright:
