Wondering who has this Miltek on order and if yes, are you going for the Non-Res or Resonated version?

Saw various videos of other aftermarket RS3 Exhausts like IPE, ARMYTRIX and REMUS but they don't sound better as the stock.. Have really no expectations on the Miltek what so ever, if I am honest..

The sports exhaust from Audi can't be bettered in my opinion.

Agreed,

Best setup on this car will be Sports Exhaust with downpipe. Keeps the OE quality and reliability too. Audi engineering would have had a 7 figure budget developing the exhaust, Milltek, well their quality control appears to have gone out the window the last few years.

Full Milltek likely to cost £2-3k also.

Still though, it will be interesting to see how it sounds and you do get a weight saving with aftermarket systems.

If it were me, I would go with the non resonated if I was keeping the stock downpipe and resonated if I was replacing the stock downpipe with a decatted pipe.

Straight through system will sound too loud and boy racerish and Chavvy. Depending on your age you may want the loudest exhaust in the street though.

I’ve had the milltek downpipe fitted for a few months and ordered milltek back box few weeks ago. Still waiting on it getting released.

Non resonated with blck tips

I already have the loudest exhaust on the street. It has made me few new friends.... Oh well.

Ofcourse they will and they have. With Milltek downpipe and my remap mines pops and bangs all the time. And that’s with standard exhaust. God knows how much better it will get with Milltek catback

Each to their own.

The problem with remap is warranty other wise I was heading towards germany now for a Pop remap which sounds like the PFL..

Is the Sports Exhaust freely available from Audi? Any idea on pricing or if any coding is required?

No Mate.

A price I was given, just passing on as an answer to a question.

If it's a FL car, I think it's probably worth going aftermarket, or at least seeing what they're like when they come out.

Also, a word of warning, Armytrix are very expensive and by many accounts are not very high quality. If you really must spend exotic car exhaust amounts on one, go for iPE, Capristo, Larini etc. Also might be worth seeing if Audi bring one out via their new Audi Sport performance parts venture, which will no doubt be Akrapovic flavoured.

Anyone know the diameter of the oval sport exhaust tip? Milltek seems to be larger and looks a bit out of place ...

Looks good to me, at the mo unless I’m happy with the standard sports exhaust I spec’d I’ll be getting one of these. Need to know if it makes any difference with going stage 3.

I wish the sports exhaust sounded louder on idle or at lower speeds... But if you get moving its loud! Would like more pops and crackles though... but it just shows how quickly we all get used to the car. My S3 and Golf R before that made no noise compared to the RS3 and I already want more!

If you install a exhaust flaps Controller you will get the sound you want :) Mine sounds like a beast after installing this

That was my exact complaint mate, then I unplugged my exhaust valves and now it sounds much louder at lower speeds and idle. Agree with the need for more pops and crackles though.

I will take HP over decibels every day of the year.

PFL is at most 20hp down on the FL. And you'll never be able to replicate the PFL sound on the FL regardless of volume

Yeah that 20hp is crushing the PFL :tearsofjoy:

Each to their own and I would never expect those in one camp to support the other - unbiased and unconscious bias kick in - we are only human after all, but let me add my 2 cents

I’ve had a few RS3’s - two 8P’s and they were awesome all round and still are.

My PFL has sports exhaust and was simply different class sound wise. Then I put Aoon’s decat Pipes on and I was in heaven - the best sound I have ever had on a car and a quick switch to comfort put me back in stealth mode - nothing quite like it if you have experienced (unless of course you live upward to the likes of RS6 land ).

Anyway I was tempted with VC and all the other FL updates and even though I loved my SB I thought it would be nice to have a saloon - so I started to research and quickly noted on the engine, turbo and front end weigh changes as well as overall handling and as I have always modded I was really intrigued by the FL’s 500bhp potential and low 3s 0-60 from a modest and relatively safe expense - so I bit the bullet and went saloon, mythos, black optic, titanium upgrade wheels, SSS, RS pack, carbon pack, light pack, delimiter 174, sports exhaust, mag ride, B & O and tonnes of other stuff that I can’t remember and have also increased her bhp when she hit 1k miles. I am now at 2.5k and I can honestly say this car launches faster than anything I have ever came across and the handling is improved but for my style of driving - which formme
Is spirited - it’s not night and day....maybe night and dusk ☺️

To the point in Q, the FL sports exhaust is without doubt much quieter than the PFL although does come to incredible life when in the zone as as many have already done - possibly because they miss the PFL sound - have tampered with the valve flaps.

The next Q to ask yourself though in this debate is if you could, would you change your FL exhaust to a PFL - my answer would be 100% YES and I would even pay an extra grand if I could have a magic wand to hand!

Don’t get me wrong I love my FL saloon and wouldn’t swap her, but if I could bring back that “simply lovely” zorst note of my PFL I would - it’s like losing a finger or something - in fact if I could deal now and put a lot of my other options on the table for that hypothetical swap it would already be a done deal as in my opinion nothing is as satisfying as that PFL, sports, decat, dynamic mode thrill - it’s ecstacy!!!

But for me the real question is why on earth did Audi change it in the first place? That for me was a backward step from FL to PFL - at least offer customers the option?!?

Sorry for the long winded reply but got engrossed in this thread over a

Do you think the PFL exhaust will bring back the sound? Or some of it..

I’m looking into it....
