I am considering purchasing a Milltek Sport + Cat Back System for an A4 Avant B9 TFSI quattro and wondered if any members have gone down this route?

I’ve listened to some of the YouTube clips but haven’t heard one in person. I don’t want anything too loud and don’t want any drone at motorway speeds, just a little more sound than stock would be nice.

Any advice or alternative options welcomed.

Thanks

I was driven in a 2.0T 252PS saloon when I was down at Milltek with a non-res system and either a decat or sports cat (can't remember which), and it wasn't ridiculously loud or have excess drone. If you just stuck the non-res system on I think that you'd like it for the bit of extra noise, a resonated system is close to stock volume but with a deeper tone overall.

Milltek specifically engineer their systems for minimal drone, so it's more just down to how much volume you want!

That sounds promising, thanks Daggerit

No worries. I’d still recommend trying to hear one in person though as our tastes/loudness definitions might be different. And microphones never pick it up right too...

When you were in the car with the Milltek, was there any noise difference inside the cabin with the windows closed?

You mean versus closed?

It was noticeably quieter with the windows shut as it was optioned with the acoustic privacy glass, I don’t know how different it would be with standard glass but they’re fairly quiet anyway so you’d definitely notice a difference.

Thanks for your reply.

It was more of a comparison to stock I was looking for. I’ve got the acoustic glass too and it does a good job of shutting out road noise but wondered if there was much of a sound difference within the cabin using a Milltek versus stock exhaust?

Ultimately I do want to hear it with my own ears but not sure how easy that’ll be. Thought there might have been one of two on here who’ve got one on a B9 TFSI quattro, hopefully someone in or around the West Midlands.

You could definitely hear it in the cabin but it wasn’t so loud that you had to raise your voice to chat or anything.
