Evening Folks.

I'm considering buying new wheels, currently on my Audi A3 2.0ltr TDI are 17 inch Alloys. If I were to get, say 18"-19"s would I need to adapt the car in any way i.e.- spacers. I've attached a photo of the wheels I'm considering also.

I'm not particularly fussed about big wheels but I do think I'd prefer 18"s. The car is as standard. I'm fairly Novice so any help will do.

Cheers Lads/Ladies.

Hi
I've spotted your car photo and think it looks awesome by the way
I am deciding as to whether or not refurb my 2008 tfsi s-line 18" alloys or buy new wheels, I think yours look great do you have the ET? Im running std 225/40/18 tyres at the moment and the car needs a freshen up.
Cheers Clive

Ok thanks I'll look them up and see if they should fit with no issues, I'd rather spend my money on some newer wheels in good condition than refurbing my 10 year old wheels if I can.
Thanks again

There the style wheel i was going to get but desided not to as i know ill curb them the first time i drive with them but they are lovely wheels

I agree, they look great above on dave's car with that paint and sideskirts, just unsure if they'll be as good on my standard s-line in silver.....
Am I correct in thinking I need et45 ?

As I will need all 4 of my s-line alloys powder coated that may cost me £400 so I'd much rather put the money towards some fresh wheels if I can, I have the cash just in no rush to waste it on the wrong rims. Trying to get my head round what s3 alloys fit my car without issues etc, ideally straight fit.

just going to say that that wheel in satin black in a 19 is car porn. 19x8J et 49 is a perfect fit

ET45 will be fine with a 225/40/18 tyre.

All S3 (8P&8V) alloys will fit.

It won't cost my £400 to get them powered coated. I'm not sure where you're based but there's a wheel refurbishing company called wheelrefurbishing.co.uk near London (Hertfordshire) who do a full refurb of 4 wheels including powder coat and lacquer for £180. I've heard great things about them and will be taking some S-line alloys I picked up last week for them to sort out. I'm sure you can find a place near you that does a similar service and price.

I'm at Weston-super-Mare so have been looking at Bristol, maybe The Wheel Specialist? I've called and was quoted approximately 100 per wheel, obviously I've not had wheels re done before so just presumed they did a great job lol...
I'll hold back then if that's off the mark.

Ok my confusion then, I presumed from the previous posts et45 was standard so I had this fixed in my mind, makes more sense now, I've not had mine off myself to be able to check inside for the correct numbers.
Ta mate

So just got a full quote from The Wheel Specialist in Bristol for full strip down and powder coat for all 4 wheels, 9 hours work would cost £380 inc vat and re-balancing.
I thought that's what it would cost but apparently they do a good job...decisions...I could buy those S3 wheels for similar money add in delivery and cost of a tyre fitter putting my tyres on them and balancing etc £500 I'll sleep on it

£380 is pretty mad to be honest, dunno, maybe things are for once cheaper down here in the south!

I'm going to check on Detailing World forum for any local recommendations for wheel refurbishment which is of a similar price to that quoted by Davey onthemove
They're usually a friendly bunch over there so I'll see what they suggest
