Facelift New S3

Hi,

After a torrid time of 9 months of ACC and pre-sense failures which culminated in Audi swapping out the cam under warranty. The dealership then crashed in my old S3 whilst they had it in their car park during the snowy weather. It was fair to say by this point I was certain my old S3 was jinxed so.....

I decided to get a new one! Pics after a getting a ceramic coating.

I’ve already put 700 miles on the clock, only another 300 before being able to up the revs. Absolutely loving the pops and crackles on the overrun.

What was happening with ACC/Pre-sense on the old one? I really don't like pre-sense it sometimes kicks in at times for no apparent reason, or at least when I think it shouldn't.... maybe its just me =)

If you're in Reading I'll have to keep an eye out! There's hardly a lack of S3s about but yours is at least a different colour to the majority

!

My previous S3 suffered with intermittent ACC / pre-sense issues where you’d be driving along and the car would flash up that neither ACC or pre-sense was currently available. This could be reset by turning off the ignition and starting the engine again. There was also cam position sensor faults too. it went in numerous times under warranty to have various sensors and wiring replaced none of which sorted out the issue. In fairness I only had the car back for a short while after the cam swap but it did drive so much better so I can only hope the issue was resolved given that the last lot of Work was in excess of £4,000 plus the cost of a month’s rental of a Golf R.

Yeah I’m in Reading near Jct 12 of the M4, so I’m sure you’ll see me around.

Beautiful colour and please......*** keep the S3 badges. There seems to be a weird trend on here to remove them, your car looks much nicer with them AND if you remove them then anyone with a basic knowledge of cars will know it’s an S3 anyway, so it won’t deter thieves.

Anyway, lovely motor.

Can you turn off the pre sense, my saloon is coming with ACC and pre sense.

I'm assuming pre sense detects when it thinks you're going to crash the car in certain situations?

You certainly could turn it off in my old PFL S3. Thought in fairness if you set it late interjection it wasn't that bothersome.

I certainly plan on keeping the S3 badges, but I'm tempted to go black Audi rings.

Thanks for all the positive comments on the colour of my new S3. There are times I absolutely love it and other times like this morning when I was shocked by how battleship grey it looked lol.

Nearly clocked a 1000 miles so won't be long before I can exploit the full revs

.
