Hello,
I just started the petition "Audi: Audi UK have literally ruined my life financially ref model/car AUDI A4 2.0 TFSI B7" and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.
My goal is to reach 100 signatures and I need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here:

Thanks!

You bought a used car, unless it had an extended audi warranty in place and the said items were covered , audi have no legal obligation to recify anything i'm afraid.
All you are doing is just making life more difficult for yourself i'm afraid, if they were going to address your issues then it would have been done by now, let it go.

Car 1 is a 2005 car (would be 13 years old by now) and car 2 is a 2007 car which would be 11 years old by now....UK law only covers you for 6 years (5 years in Scotland), and even with that, after 6 months the onus is on YOU to prove there is an inherent fault by means of independent expert reports, etc.

Legally you have no case against Audi. I am sorry to hear about your bad luck / issues and I hope you get it all sorted out soon. However throwing good money after bad to try and take them to court and fight a case you are almost guaranteed to lose is a terrible idea.

In your shoes I would cut my losses and move on. Also, maybe start doing some DIY or use a good independant on your own car and stop taking it to Audi dealerships who are overpriced and usually not great at diagnosing issues with older cars. Your car is now 3 generations old (B9 is current, B8 is previous and B7 is yours).

Sorry for your loss of money but is on you. I buyed my car 1 year ago, I have read and read a lot of forum posts about issues of that particular engine ( blb code). In London they ask a ton of money for that oil pump. 2 months ago I changed or better said transformed my oil pump to gear drive one at the prise of 500 euro and the engine has 240k . The issue in hand will not get you anywhere. The only think you can do is move on, and in the future read on the Internet about the specific car you want to buy, take a mechanic with you , test drive it with vcds if it's vag, make a log, there are many things you cand do before buying a car just to avoid things like this. Wish you luck.

I researched in to the tfsi engine. And I found that this issue was common. Still bought one.

It happened. So I repaired it. Problem solved. We aren’t really Audi’s customers. We bought second hand cars(not directly from Audi).

How can you expect them to vouch for that vehicle over its 13 year life? No one could prove their vehicle has had every oil change, every service it ever needed.

As for the mot failures, that’s a completely separate thing. You can’t throw anojtber £1200 on there just because. Any car could have a £1200 mot bill.

I would stop wasting your time and energy and get another job to help clear your debts if you are that worried.

No point going to court and losing and owing more money to someone.

Unless it has spotless full dealer service history they (rightly) won't be interested. Unless you really want to be paying £120/hr labour you shouldn't be taking it to a dealer either, find a decent independent.

Signed, praying this doesn’t happen to the 2006 BUL I just bought

my 06 BUL has just gone over 100k miles. Still running strong as ever *touch wood*

Oh dear. If you didn't have bad luck you'd have no luck at all eh?

However, as mentioned above, you've a snowflake in hells chance of getting anything out if Audi. Two used cars, both over a decade old. Known fault or not, out of warranty, out of luck with most manufacturers. Occasionally you'll see a bit of goodwill, but not another 5 + years worth.

Question - Why after the 1st one blew didn't you get the parts replaced on the second as a preventative measure? Especially, as you've said, it's a known weak spot and one that you'd experienced 1st hand with the first car.

Think your going to have to chalk this down to experience, accept a little personal responsibility (buying older 2nd cars is always a risk) & move on. Don't go throwing good money after bad.

Even with spotless main dealer history they aren't always interested. I had a mk6 vw golf gti with full main dealer history and at 49k the cam tensioner broke just before the next service. VW refused to assist me at all despite having documents that showed it was a design fault and always likely to fail and i had to have a new engine fitted at my expense, the only financial help i got was from my local main dealers but nothing at all from VW UK.

I have the 2006 TFsi model (not sure which engine code) and 20k miles ago before I owned the car it had the following parts:

New balance shaft assembly £940.
Oil Pump Chain £23
Chain Tensioner £31
Labour £540 ish

Is this the same part as above that has gone wrong or been changed by a few people on here?

Don't think that if the pre owner did this changes it will not happen again to crack mate. Until you don't fit and replace the chain with gear drive parts, your oil pump is a tic toc bomb. I passed to gear drive oil pump at less then half of the price mentioned in your post with 10mm ax.
