I'm sure this isn't the best place to ask, but I couldn't see anywhere else that was suitable. Mods, feel free to move to the most appropriate location.

I'm looking for recommendations for garages in the Gateshead/Newcastle area. I have a service due soon and Newcastle Audi are quoting silly money. I'm aware of Swift Engineering but their quote isn't much cheaper. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Cheers

Volksentre in Blyth are a German car specialist, they did my first service, I can't remember exactly how much it was but it was half what Audi wanted. Seemed a professional set up, old boys in clean overalls with a very clean looking workshop.

Although they get a bad rep, kwikfit are also good for fixed price servicing, that's where the other half's mini goes as they're open on Sundays.

I'll be following this thread with interest. I've recently moved back to the North-East and my A3's first service is probably due soon. it seems to be a toss-up between Tyneside Audi or Newcastle Audi, or an independent.

Not every day someone mentions anything positive about blyth, you from blyth your self ??

I can also vouch for this company as I took my car there a couple of months ago and they had a good look over it, well over a hour and didn't charge a penny.

Thanks for the recommendation. Volksentre have quoted just over half the price of Audi! I will be having a trip up to Blyth soon :)

Bedlington mate, I go to the gym in Blyth just round the corner from Volksentre.

I know it's not your way but there's a garage in pitty me (Durham) called Darcys that are very good Vag specialist.

@Steven87 Never thought I'd see another chap from Bedlington on here! I recently used a guy my dad has used for years and services the majority of my family's motors, DK Auto services travels around in a van and has his own garage at his place he can pick up and take the car too if needed, just needed the 9k oil change and done at a reasonable price, all picked up and dropped back off while i was in bed sleeping for nightshift!

There's also one in North Shields as well will try and fine it for you.

Theres prestige german cars in south shields near the barbour factory. Havent took my car there yet though but good price quoted for cambelt change which is due soon. Nice purpose built set up they have

Darcy's was a bit more expensive than Volksentre (£220 vs £190) but since they are pretty close I think I will just go with them. Thanks for all the recommendations guys n gals :)

Have used these before with my previous cars, never had any issues with them and seem pretty spot on.
