Guys,

Due to change my pads on my Audi A4 Black Edition 2014, 35k miles on the clock. I have tried to do some research prior to ordering the parts. I know the PR codes for my vehicle but need some guidance on which aftermarket brand I should go for. I have looked at Textar, ATE and Brembo from ECP.

Please can you give me your opinions on which brand will give me the closest performance to OE or even better?!

Much appreciated.

I haven't no. Didn't see them on ECP website.

Why not go for EBC RedStuff which should give better braking performance ...

Ultimax, as Gaz mentioned, aren't gonna be any better than OEM pads

Thanks for the replies.

I checked the size, PR codes etc. Will look for the EBC Redstuff pads but I suspect they will be pricier than Texter, Brembo etc!

Just phoned audi for a price to supply front disc's for mine, and was quoted £183. Also said that they "recommend to change the caliper carrier bolts" at the same time @ £4.20 each

And they'll recommend you change the pads, brake lines, etc.

And it'll all add up to an absolute fortune! :scared2:

Any of those three makes you mention in your original post will be absolutely fine - they are all top quality aftermarket makes that will be as good (in not better) than the OE ones you had. Replacing the large carrier bolts is "perfection belt & braces" - if you're changing the discs but as you are just changing the pads you will only be removing the callipers. If they are talking about the 13mm calliper bolts - or ATE style slider/caliper bolts - then changing isn't a bad idea - top pads like ATE/Textar normally come with a couple of spares.
