Anyone know how to remove and replace the clip that holds the sun visor in place?

Mine just snapped. Plastic fatigue, I suppose, even though it hardly had a hard life (unlike its owner).

Cheers

What car, Allroader?

From what I remember, plastic cover pulls down. Seen few YT videos of how to remove roof lining and it was one of the steps. Search it there.

You are brilliant!

The cover came away quite easily with a bit of leverage from a flat headed screwdriver, allowing the unit to be pulled out of the headlining.

Many thanks for the eBay link for the replacement part. OEM on it’s way for £15.99, which is fair enough.

I think that you should probably have checked the price from your local dealer.
I'd guess at about £10, maybe a bit less.

Whoops! I was a bit trigger happy, then.

Still, would probably have cost the difference in diesel on a trip to the dealer.

Are you a Porsche 968 owner/ex?

A

I found out because I was going to buy a roller blind clip from the same seller and discovered that his price for one was the same as two from the dealer.
To be fair, he is probably covering his eBay and PayPal fees and P&P and making a small profit, but being a tight Yorkshireman, I like a bargain :sunglasses:

Yes, I am still a 968 owner. I've owned it for almost 11 years.
Lovely car, but good at lightning my wallet!

Wish I had never sold my yellow CS. That was about 11 years ago. The world can’t be that small, though, can it? LHD with a roll cage.

Mine is a midnight blue coupe and I've just had the pinion bearing repaired and gearbox overhauled. Wallet now very much lightened, but the car is so different and so quiet.
Your CS would probably be worth about 2 or 3 times what you sold it for 11 years ago now. The values of the CS have sky rocketed over the last couple of years. Odd to think that they were the cheap versions back in the 90's and coupes were the expensive variant.

I am fairly sure the we have another former 968 owner on here somewhere too.

It’s quite depressing when you look back at what you got rid of and what it’d be worth now. I sold the yellow CS after spending a fortune restoring it to original spec plus LSD, KW adjustable suspension, cage and I can’t remember what else. I did quite a few track days in it then wanted something faster so sold it to someone who agreed to give me first refusal if he ever sold it himself. He hasn’t contacted me, of course! It’s replacement was a nice Mk2 996 GT3 which I sold after 3 years. That’s now worth a fortune, too! However, I’m not sure I’ve really lost out in terms of value when you factor in what it would cost to have kept them in good condition over the years since letting them go. I’ll never forget what a brilliant handling car the 968 was, though.
