Car's looking epic as ever mate! Did you end up lowering the back more? Looks a little lower in the latest photos.
 
Cheers mate, I haven't I've left it at this height (below) I think its just because of how steep the roads were when I've stopped for the photos.

Cant believe its been that long since the last update on this. Basically not a lot has happened so here's a quick run down of some stuff.

  1. Nankang NS2R's - I'm onto my 3rd set of these, the tyres are brilliant, I've used them all year round even in the snow. They are noisy but as an all-round tyre for the price, grip & usability these are the best tyres I've ever used.
  2. Sachs/Loba SMF kit - Died, it lasted 70,000 miles. I thought this was poor considering I'm quite a way behind its marked power/torque limit. But others I spoke to said it wasn't too bad...... I've now gone for a Helix unit and converted back to a DMF.
  3. KW Setup - Holding up well, had no issues at all with these.
  4. Vagbremtechnik/AP 4-pot Setup - This is the best thing I've bought for this car, the discs have just started to look worn they are at the end of a 2nd set of pads. They've taken some serious hammering since they went on and saved me from a few other idiots on the road!

Since the last update I've had to change the following general components:

Alternator & Belt
Thermostat
Clutch kit, slave cylinder & DMF
Numerous oil & filters
Plugs
Battery (Again! - 4 weeks outside of its warranty)
Few sets of tyres


I listed the car for sale a few times then removed it, I toyed with the idea of a new car, then toyed with the idea of buying al older car and generally just changed my mind weekly for around 6 months on what I was doing. This eventually led my up to last Christmas, my partner sold her car and we bought a new Fabia, which covers the 5-door run around & school runs that are required!

So this will be going up for sale.... but not before 1 last trip to the ring :) Which is booked in for April 20th. So the following upgrades have been or will have been done before then some of them are already on just waiting on other parts:

Reyland 362mm J-hooked front rotors
Mintex M1155 front pads
Vagbremtechnik J-hooked rear discs
Mintex M1155 Rear pads
AKS Solid shifter bushes
APR Short shift kit

Its clocked over the 240k mark now too, which means the engine has hit around 100k so ill likely stick another timing belt kit, pick up pipe HPFP follower & water pump on it too.

Ill get some fresh pictures when all the parts are on!

Right so I'm back from the ring, the car was fine no problems to report. It was a good farewell to the car, I've had it up for sale for the last 2 weeks and its had a fair bit of intrest so far. No on-boards from this trip as i didnt take my go-pro.

So since the last post I've changed the following:

Reyland 362mm J-hooked front rotors

Vagbremtechnik 310mm J-hooked rear discs
Mintex M1155 Rear pads
AKS Solid shifter bushes
Forge F&B short shift
Forge L&R short shift
HPFP follower
Coolant change
Brake fluid change
2 x front tyres
Rear O/S Caliper
OEM Replacement gear knob & gaitor
Oil & Filter
