Just called in to my local dealers on way home, no RS4 yet but got this 'bargain' for sale
View attachment 147434 View attachment 147435

Had a lovely 67 plate RS6, one lucky owner collection 3rd Feb, not waiting till March!
Also a Blue B8.5 RS4 awaiting prep but sold.
I actually stopped off to look at the SQ5, always quite fancied one.

We loved our SQ5, but not sure how I feel about it being petrol now, I’m not a fan of petrol 4x4. It should be more about torque then reviving to red line.. SQ7 that has me dribbling..,

Not yet, like to give my bloke first dibs and he's promised me a car to play in!
Besides not wishing to wast anyone's time as I'm not buying!
Even more so as I've just got some valuations on my 10 month old, full loaded S4 - thought it must be a mistake! # massive negative equity. WBAC £26k!? Audi valuation £30k
Audi finance balance £36k
I knew It would be bad but ouch, obviously early days on my 3 year term

Wow, I’ll have some serious equity in mine after four years then as the guaranteed value was like £28k for mine!

Same My dealer said he's intent on making it happen but it's hard to ignore the £6k negative equity.

mines £21.5k after 48 months...

I'm hoping they set the bar low so it's worth more like last time. Meh. I don't care. Let's see what he can do in the coming months as everyone trades on their B8.

Fingers crossed. Although I look at autotrader most days I know I will keep the cat for a least 3 years. Well unless the perfect next car comes along.... how much can I get for selling a kidney......

My dealer knows he'll get another 2-3 cars out me minimum so there's some wiggle room but I agree, can only do so much.

I made a mistake not waiting another year but it had to be done. Too much was going wrong with the old one. Some bad knocks and yada yada. I've learned loads though. It's not about having the 'latest'. I'm not bothered anymore. Same as stupid mobile phones. I'm regressing . Wonder how quick these B9s will depreciate.

Right gents. This...has me utterly perplexed. Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo e-hybrid.

The exact same engine as RS4, let's be honest. Listen to this...just before the 6min mark.

Porsche have made this (not even top of the range model) Panamera sound excellent. If the B9 RS4 had this exhaust, I'd get it. And I'd be in love with the sound. Considering the product lineage I can't understand why VW/Audi have done this.

Dual branch exhaust down the middle by the looks of it from the technical diagrams of the hybrid system.

I have a a question... ‘to front plate or not to front plate’..

Depends, if one wants to break up that atrocious expanse of foam behind the grille, it could be far worse than mounting a black slimline plate.

To me, there is only one RS, and it stops with a '6'. I am a 'wagon' person, not a SUV (which was initially a jacked-up wagon, but do not get me started on SUV's), and Audi/VAG want to introduce RS SUV's = greed!
Have driven one (bucket list = 'tick') and listen to one whenever Scott, the Audi dealer's Buy-in Manager, can eagerly get one as drive home vehicle.
Last week he apologized for going past the house and couldn't disengage the sports exhaust. I asked him to, please, only ever drive past with full noise.

The ridiculous $$'s Audi want for a RS4 is not justified. If more power is sought, new downpipes, tune box, and/or a twin turbo bolt-on kit from Germany. Anyhow, I could not 'drive' a RS4 or RS6 to its potential. If I can do the mods I envisage... :thumbs up:

So. Something happened this weekend. I have no clue. I'll make no apologies about it. I'm a converter. I have simply started warming heavily to this new B9.

Whether it was my S4 just sounding that little bit more fruity this weekend or just how 'on it' it felt, I really started to enjoy and love the punch of the V6. The B9 RS4 looks won me over on launch. You all know that. But, yeah...haven't got a clue. Just think I'm gonna get one down the line. So, where does that leave the B8? I just feel, as a daily driver, I'd couldn't access the full potential up at 7-8.5k rpm. Not every day. And frankly, the only reason I want the B8 is for its timeless looks and NA 4.2.

So, will I own one? Yes. But I think I'm just gonna wait and then actually 'own' one. Find a low mileage well cared for example and keep it as a classic. In 15-20 years time, it's going to be an absolute icon and I can rev the nuts off it, on a weekend, not worrying about fuel and running costs. Experiment with a custom exhaust and truly enjoy it. Time to book a test drive haha.

@Robbe looks like I'm on the same upgrade plan as you now mate Gonna wait 2-3 years, talk to dealer about putting something together that's more 'flexible' for me and look at the outgoing RS6 Performance. I'll be saving a tonne of cash in the Immediate with this decision and can put it towards a good spec one. Thrash that a few years, probably get the facelift B9.5 RS4 (could it be the last one?) then maybe punch out with the C8 RS6 hybrid. Max power. Buy the ****** and keep it forever.

Anyhoo, in the meantime, I'm really enjoying my S4 and honestly look forward to the guys picking their new RS4s up and inundating us with sound and reviews!! Especially @DeanoC little 3 day adventure review

good to hear....

I had the next car talk with the wife.. well she looked at me and said you want an RS6.... she didn't seemed to annoyed and actually she found a better driving position in the C7 S6. so think i am in a winner their... just have to see what my situation is in 2-3 years. might be a B9 RS4 if the price is right... so atm just going to enjoy driving the S4 in dynmaic and not worry about the future..

Sounds like you could be in a RS6 within 18 months. when does your PCP finish....

Isn't that an interesting development though. Crack down on 3rd party tuning then team up with ABT. They could be onto a right money spinner if they swap out the current 1500 ish limiter removal and swap it with a 3000 ish performance hike. I bet we see a dynamic pack on the RS4 by the summer with some discounts and then the performance edition next year when they do the touchscreen and maybe an ABT the summer after that

Amen. That's great news haha.

Yes it's big but what a car. 18 mo the probably way too soon. Price wise and negative equity. That should level off around 3 year point. So 2 years. Depends how much more they come down in price. I'm gonna go fully loaded. Not in a rush.

Like you, just enjoy the car now and save. B9 RS4 would be considered too. Wonder if a Performance will be released. They've not done so before but that engine is capable of 500bhp easy so...

Touchscreen in facelift A4? You could be right with ABT. They've always been in the background but they do appear to be coming into fold more now. The Performance parts are made by ABT right? And re branded as Audi Sport? Got to be a Performance Edition coming.

The touchscreen was just missed at launch. Hence the stick on screen.

Yes the logical route is it will all be rebadged as Audi sport. ABT tuning, wheels, aero options, Akro exhaust etc.
