Hi there am after some new alloys for the avant am after some 18s what's the best specs to go for am putting coilovers on it and what to lower it about 60mm over standard cheers

Depending on your tyres ET35 offset may foul the arches. Mine was fine with ET35 until I swapped my rubber for Yokohama AD08R's now they catch. Might use it as an excuse to swap the wheels as have had these for a few years now
 
ET38 and 8J is about the perfect fitment for a B5.

Dont get the polished silver ones though, give it 6 months and they'll be ruined. The Bronze ones are cool, but they seem to be mk4 golf fitment.
 
The bronze ones are nice I like the polished ones I keep my alloys very clean so may be ok
 
I've got 225/40R18 on 7.5x18 ET30 and they just catch the rear arch lip occasionally and you should have about 8-9mm more clearance with those depending which tyres you use.
 
Would 18x8.5 et 43 be ok? I’m looking at a set, any help would be appreciated thanks guys.
 
I am thinking 8.5j you may have to do some arch work I've got 8j et 45 and there's not much room
