I'm thinking about fitting a Connects2 AutoDAB to my '62 plate s3.
I have read a few reviews and watched some YouTube videos on them, wondering if anyone on here has any experience of them, do they work as well as they appear to?

Also, I believe that the internal aerial has to be fitted to the windscreen, has anyone tried to conceal the large black plastic box part behind the headlining? I think it would annoy me too much on view!
Are there any other options for the aerial?

I have it, works well. The box lives behind my glovebox

Nice one, good to hear from someone who has one!

The black plastic box I was on about is the one that is part of the aerial.

No that the main unit, the aerial sticks to the window, and the wire runs down the A pillar

Guys,

How do you get this to work? I cannot for the life of me get it to work. I see autodab as a selection on the main radio station lists but then it switches to 87.8 which has tuned into classic fm.

It's actually doing my head in. I've tried unplugging it for a day and starting again but now everytime I tune to 87.8 it tunes to classic fm.

I also get no audible message saying autodab scanning. I just get 2 audible beeps.

Debating wether to sell it and get something else such as dension dab u.

Ta

I don't really use mine tbh, have you followed the manual as settings are under other menus

Yes, ive also messaged autoconnects who have said the menus you access won't be accessible using the stalk until its had its initial setup. It's odd because I can see it for about 3 seconds then it tunes back to classic.

Not a clue, there's not really much info on it not working when you Google it. Connects2 said......

It may be worth disconnecting the power from the interface for a few mins then reconnecting, then you will have to tune into 87.8 manually using the touch screen buttons and you then should hear the a voice commands saying scanning autodab. Please make sure that you have connected the dab fakra antenna connections into the FM connectors of the head unit and not into the blue GPS fakra connector.

So I've done this and it didn't make any bit of difference. They then suggested .....

When you are tuned to 87.8 your stalk controls will not fully function until you have activated the autodab after it has finished scanning via a stalk button press.

But unfortunately it sounds like the 'Classic' station in your area is also on the 87.8 frequency that we are tuned into. So the Classic station is not allowing our dab to come through on that frequency, you can normally change the frequency on the DAB but you will need to be able to get into the DAB menu. But i'm afraid you want be able to get into the menu with the other stations on the same frequency, just try and disconnect the FM connector (fakra connector) to the head unit and see if the autodab over rides the other stations.

Again I've done that and evwn tried doing it again when I was about 50 miles from home but it still tunes to 87.8 haha. Baffling
