Facelift Post Pics Of Your Facelift A3/S3 8V In Here

My red beast after a proper wash on Sunday. Lucky it was also a sunny day. I also vacuumed about a ton of gravel inside and washed the rubber winter mats.
Only stuff I put after wash was Sonax BSD and the car has been waxed last time in June with Soft99 Kiwami Gloss.

Nice!
Do you have any issues trying to wash / applying products in the low temperatures there?

I usually wash my car still outside when temperature is more than zero degrees Celcius. But yesterday it was below zero so I borrowed my brothers two car warm garage. Previous time was in December when the temperature was +1. Normal two bucket method washing with warm water and BSD as drying aid.
And after washing I put some Einszett GummiPlflege to the door rubbers. So no issues.

Actually in those conditions nordic studless tires would be better. Studs work better only on ice and they do not make a difference on snow. In some cases studless tires are better on snow.
BTDT.

Apologies.. though the locals round here don’t seem to agree with that, and having driven on snow quite a lot (used to live in the alps and the rockies) Studs are good.. maybe my phrasing was wrong.. apologies again..

No apologies needed, as studded snow tyres do work in snow, but not as well as snow tyres in fresh snow. Studded snow tyres work best when you are going to meet both conditions snow and ice and have no equal on ice covered roads. In Lapland and other Arctic or near areas, I would probably have my tyres studded, especially if I lived and drove on country roads which are not cleared like main roads are.

We went to Lapland two years ago to see Santa. Amazing trip and your great photo has brought the memories flooding back. Enjoy.

@jassyo06 - 'Twas a real shame Audi dropped misano red when the FL was released IMHO
& yes I know you can still get it as an exclusive Audi colour

No problem. We have two schools here in Finland. Those, like me, who prefer studless tires and those who like studded.
Studded are better in conditions where there is ice and snow mixed, because studs bite on ice. But purely on snow there is actually no difference since studs don't catch any better on soft surface. In some tests studless has been better on pure snow, because of the lamellas on the tire.
I prefer studless because I don't like the noise the studded tires make.

I know its not the right place to post this, but I have searched the forum and cant find anything relating to it.... Cold start

I have just got my 2017 Audi s3 sport back at the end of December, upgraded from the Astra gtc vxr, the Astra when first started up would rev about 1200 RPM and make a racket for about 30 + seconds, my dad also has a new shape Audi S5 which does the same.

My S3 however when started up cold or warm just starts up and is very quite, below 1000rpm on the revs.

should it rev higher when cold? or is it normal for it to be the same hot or cold when starting up?

My S3 revs above it and makes noise for a bit, I’m pretty sure it’s meant to on a cold start!

yeah I thought that it would as well, considering my old car and the new S5 does, and also videos on YouTube of cold start sound rather loud, mine doesn't appear to be any louder or rev any hire, neither did the one I test drove at the dealers.

Not sure what’s up with that mate, maybe it’s worth enquiring about? Just to be sure?

yeah I definitely will, just wanted to see what other S3 owners had to say about it before I went back to Audi

Washing cars in the rain again today, started of dry though!
Not bad beading considering it was just VP citrus pre wash, rinsed, BH snow foam and rinsed for today’s quick clean.
10 days worth of winter driving since the Fireball Premium east coast was applied and it’s still doing its stuff.

Used the Bilt Hamber for the first time on the last wash, was mega impressed and only actually used half of the lance bottle! (Followed the mixing guide on detailing world to get the right panel ratio) that will be my go to foam now, car was pretty much fully clean after foam and pressure wash and that was with over a months worth it road grime on it!

Got it done yesterday and back in the garage before the rain came.
Didn't bother with pics this time though.
Wife keeps complaining I've not done hers with the new products yet but she's been shopping!

As you know, I've been doing the same Barry, but didn't get as long from the Fireball as the roads are just so dirty and grimy up here at the mo. Need some rain to clear them then a dry spell (some hope). Yesterday though I reckon I'd have got away with just the citrus pre wash and a rinse, but gave it the three stage treatment again anyway.

They do look well @jassyo06 . I also love the look of Michelin tyres. I got Hankook on my new A4 and seriously hate the look of them...it’s the small things that count!

Also have to mention the black calipers - think these suit the overall colours of your car. I think I remember you saying a while back that you regretted not going for the red Calipers? You made the right decision IMO.
