As title, i don't seem to be able to get my heated mirrors to work no matter what i do with the switch. Is this a common problem, done a search and cant seem to find anything related to the face lift S3.

With mist on the glass they should clear it about 15 seconds - very fast acting.

As above they don’t come on with the heated rear screen.

YEah mine clear really quickly when you turn the mirror switch to the heated setting.

Mine usually clear mist in a few minutes, longer for frost. If you leave the mirror switch in the heated position it will turn off after a certain time. On my previous car (a Skoda) the switch had to be re-selected the next time the car was started (even if it had been left in the heated position) -not sure if the same applies on the S3 but out of habit I re-select it if I want the mirrors heated.

My mirrors melted the Twickenham frost this morning very quickly, actually helping to clear the side windows nearby too :p
Only remember to turn the switch back to left-mirror setting for reverse dip when I notice that it doesn't dip :(

Well mine certainly don't work then, they didn't even clear for my 30 minute journey when i last tried to work how they worked. What position does the switch need to be in to heat the mirrors?

For mine to work I’m sure I put on rear de mist then wing mirror switch to rear position. Rear has to be on.

Might wanna give that interior plastic a wipe? ;)

Haha. Yes probably. Too many trip to the dump recently but it gets wet when the door is opened in the rain (like just now).

Incidentally the manual says (page 61) turn the switch to the heated position to heat the mirrors "depends on the outside temperature" but does not say how low that temperature needs to be.

Looks like your mirrors are heated but not folding.

Heated would be switch in 6 '0' clock position.

Yer, you're right, i don't have folding mirrors. I've tried it in the 6 'o clock position and they definitely don't work. The knob can be pulled back in this position which I've also tried but still no good.

For mine to work I’m sure I put on rear de mist then wing mirror switch to rear position. Rear has to be on.

That is not the case on my 2017 S3 and I am pretty sure for all years back to 2015.
Just move rotary switch to heated mirrors position...rear window switch is just that only.

Hmmm maybe it was coincidence at the time then. Mine is MY17 also

Deffo shouldn't need rear screen on, think I've only used the rear screen once since March but have used the mirrors plenty of times.

It must have been coincidence then, when I used them whilst we had snow.

Guys, thanks for all your help but I need to apologise to you all. My stupid oversight, I didn't realise the switch spun round so the white dot faces the heated mirror symbol!!! As the switch rocks backwards and forwards I thought to operate the heating system I only had to rock the knob (on the car not me) backwards, all working fine now, thanks again.

The tilt is for the ejector seat, be careful with that one.

At least you hadn’t booked it into the dealer, that could have been embarrassing when they told you

I called Lloyds helpdesk as WiFi wasn’t working on my laptop, turns out I hadn’t flicked the switch to the correct position....
