Pressed it. but doesn't do anything related to the doors. I don't have puddle lights. Is it associated to them, if I had them fitted?

would've thought it's for the interior lights when the doors are opened?

Interior lights come on when the doors are opened and vice versa

Yep. Seems pointless to me, but must be advantageous to someone.

Really surprised you didn’t know this. Literally ever single car has this button!

I think there's an understanding here. I'm talking about the button with the car on it. Not the actual light button. I've had several cars none of which have had that car with open door button.

Really? I think every car I've ever owned has had a switch to allow you to open the doors without the interiour lights coming on, even going back to MK1 Escorts where it was a three way rocker switch rather than 2 buttons as per your image (lights off, lights on with door open & lights permanently on).

Your image shows L/H switch which is either lights off permanently or on with door open only & R/H switch is lights on overriding the door switch e.g for map reading etc as it's difficult to read a map whilst holding the door open at speed lol!

I'm not disputing what it does. I've just never seen this set up. Yes a rocker switch. First car with a conpletely separate button for the purpose. Thank you. I think we can put this topic to bed now.

Maybe its just always been too dark for you to see the symbol on entering the car as its always been off!!
