So I have a 2005 Audi A3 2.0L TFSI,

I was wondering if I Installed a 3" decat downpipe, milltek catback and a k&n induction filter would that give me more of an exhaust oomph, Also Ive been looking around online, and decat downpipes are a kind of grey area ? is it illegal or not ?

And if you guys have any links to the bits where people have installed the downpipe and catback, that would be useful.

Keep the Cat. The 200 cell sport cat that BCS provide actually flows more than a decat. A decat will give you annual MOT issues unless you’re happy to change back before/after the test.

Change your diverter valve to the GFB DV+. It will hold the boost better but sounds good too.

Don’t fit a K&N filter. They oil isn’t MAF friendly - if you want a panel filter then OEM is as good as any. You’ll you consider an after market cold air intake (cai)? Take a look at RamAir or if the budget stretches Revo (think there is a couple of 2nd band ones listed on classifieds at the moment)

Good luck!

Thank you, So you are saying

Buy this and this

Also on the power valve website, the FAQ isn't working, and Im curious to find out what "Should I choose the Powervalve or the 'non' Powervalve system ?" as it doesn't load :(

Thanks, Though, I will get on this right away. Also is this an easy diy installation or should I take it to a mechanic ?

Check their Facebook page but of the Powervalve v non Powervalve, I went for the Powervalve. It’s worth enquiring about just the down pipe as this will give you some noise but free up the system too.

That DV+ looks right but give AMD in Essex a call to confirm. I’m not sure of your engine but I think the DV is bolted to the turbo so it’s not the easiest to get to. I could be completely wrong however, it could be at the front, between the engine and radiator (google DV valve on Audi S3 8P, see if yours is there too).

Today I’m having a bcs downpipe with 200 cell sports cat fitted to my 2.0 tfsi, I’ll let
You know how she feels and sounds later on, it was an expensive part but I’m sure it will be worth every penny, if you go to the power vale website and email them they would be more than happy to chat to you about your options I’m sure

And I could be wrong but I’m guessing The actual powervalve system is located in the cat back part of their exhausts not the downpipe section.

Typically, BCS PowerValve system comes as a complete, Turbo-back, system, with a downpipe, boost actuated valve and the backbox. You can buy just the downpipe, with/without a cat too, but the powervalve branding is reserved for the full system with the valve

Yep the valve is located at the back - the full system is pricey (but worth it IMO) - if the OP is after increased volume then the down-pipe is a great place to start; @S38pkyle-ing as you’ll find out today!

GFB+ a ITG induction kit and not forgetting the BCS Turboback powervalve now i turn my music down open the window and listen to the choir from underneath awesome

That's a full PowerValve system though. The downpipe and cat, while louder, would not sound the same.
I was taken his message to mean mine as i have turboback plus extra but reading back i guess he was meaning the other but no do him any harm to listen to the video. Then he might understand why i turn my music of and open me window lol. My mistake mate

I’ve drove around today with no radio on all day, just enjoying the nice growl she makes and then the ultimate roar when the boost kicks in.

Update on the bcs downpipe, once the engine gets hot I get and almighty clunking and rattling from underneath the car. I think the new bigger pipe is hitting the heat shield above it once it heats up and expands. Will have it up on the Ramps tomorrow to see if I can shift the heat shield a bit out of its way

Ouch! I guess that the clearance there is pretty tight under there and when the pipe expands, which is normal, it starts to touch stuff. You might have to adjust it. Give BCS a call as they fitted my full system and I had no issues whatsoever.

Yeah cheers mate I’ll ring them first thing see if they have any advice. However....the rest of the day before the problem arose was amazing for day 1, the sound of the car was immense, brilliant investment.

Will be selling bcs powervalve system with sports cat for sportback in next few weeks if anyone’s interested
