Retro Fit Warning/Puddle Lights A4 B7 Salon - How To

Does anyone know if this guy still makes the looms etc needed for this ? Since I've done most of the big modding jobs on my car starting to look into the small bits and pieces.

Where about was tgat error on yours carlcall?

If you do a full scan you should get an error in one of the modules saying that the memory seats have an error.

@E_KEL95 several of us got the full lights and looms from EBay for the £30 mark. They take a few weeks to come but they work perfectly....once I can get on my PC I'll find a link if you have no joy searching for them.

Hmmm, I don't have memory seats so will I be getting this error?

I see, well I scanned, central convenience and comfort module and didn't see that error. I really don't know what I could be doing wrong, it seems like a really straight forward job.

That include the red warning lights as well @carlcall ? Or just the puddle lights

Thanks chap I'll look into buying some when am back from my holidays! The installing if them just the same as the guide ?

Sorry to bump the thread a little but I've just bought a full new interior and the new door cards have puddle/warning lights in them already, whereas my old interior doesn't. Will I need to re-wire anything and if so do I need to buy any new cables, I haven't had chance to take my old door cards off so I have no idea how different they are.

No don't think so as if you are fitting them you don't run any more wiring than inside the door cards so should work just after putting new door cards in I reckon

Yes! Thanks that was the reply I was hoping for haha. Really want to put some fancy projectors but I'm terrible at any kind of wiring.

Nope, plug and play as I've just done the same.

Ok got round to fitting the warning and puddle lights on my A4 this weekend and thought id do a how to guide to help any other members if they fancy trying it their selves I was lucky mine worked straight away without coding but you may need to have them coded to get them working on your own car.

If you do fancy this mod then contact RobinA3 via pm and he can supply the looms you need and the bulb holders and must say and sure most of you would agree the looms he made were top quality

please excuse the picture quality but i copied them into publisher to get the instructions were i needed them if any wants more detailed pics or a copy of the publisher PM me and i can email it over no probs

Hi all,

Bumping again, I've fitted the door cards and bought some new lights/projectors, but I don't have any wiring for them, I can't find a ebay link to buy just the wiring for the lights, is it possible or do I need to buy that whole set that comes with wiring?

Thanks

I can supply just the looms without the lights, drop me a pm.

I have an issue after installing the puddle and warning lights. Everything is fine and working on all doors except the drivers door mirror controls.

If I connect the earth to pin 21 as suggested I loose the mirror adjustment on both doors, once I disconnect the earth from pin21 the mirrors are back in action.

Can anyone suggest an alternative pin for the drivers door earth.

Cheers.

I’ve just bought a full set of door looms with all the lights already attached are they plug and play with my car ? Thanks

Hello everyone,

I tried fitting puddle lights on my A4 B7 2007 Cabriolet, works fine on the passenger side but not the driver side with identical procedure.

I have upgraded the modules to get the power folding mirrors and the module of the passenger side is from a 2006 Cabrio but the driver side is from a 2009 Cabrio.

Passenger module had positive in pin 13 and driver door has in pin 17 and the LED lights up but at extremely low intensity, barely visible, tried pin 13 no power, pin 16 and same as pin 17, power but low intensity.

Any suggestions or ideas ? Wiring done by myself.

Good afternoon everyone. I have a 2005 A4 B7 sline avant. I recently retro fitted some puddle lights to my car following this thread.. so a big thank you to the creator of this and everyone that has given input. I had great success with this altho there were a couple of issues.
The first was the pins in the 8 pin plug in the rear doors are different to the pins In the front doors, and took me a while to identify them. Managed to get some of ebay and did the ds rear door first. Works fine, then the ps rear door.... it works but it is very dull and not bright at all like the other 3 doors. Swapping the projector lens with another door to eliminate a faulty led did not solve it. The projector works fine in another door, and the working one from the other door is now dim in the rear.
So it's not the led unit
Removing the door card again, checked all my solder connections, pin 2 positive and pin 6 earth with an already existing earth.
Bypassing the plug I put two wires on the module in the ps rear door pin 6 and 2 and tested the led.. again dim.. hardly lit.1

All other functions on the rear door work fine, lock, window, interior lights come on, dash displays if door is open, speakers work fine.

I'm at a complet loss as to what this could be, I even tried a lead from pin 2 to the projector and a fresh good earth to the battery to the led and still dim

Could I possibly have a faulty module in the rear door??
I did remove the motor assembly and cover to inspect the pcb for any corrosion but again all looks fine, no obvious dry solder or water marks

Can anyone please shed some light onto this??
Also retro floor lights?? Anyone done it? I noticed I have 1x pin in fuse holder number 2... presuming that's the positive feed to a fuse that you then connect the rest of the light system to?
