Hi all. Picked up my s3 last week and can now see the tail pipes starting to get dirty. Can anyone recommend the best product to keep them looking shiny new? Thanks

I give them a wipe with meguairs APC at 1:4 dilution every wash, keeps em looking nice...if they get that bad gtechniq metal polish

Pure Alcohol IPA watered down 10/1. Mine have been cleaned from day one. They are heavily soiled just now so I will take a photo of them tomorrow for a before and after.

Some guys on here use Autosol which I've tried too.
But the middle two pipes were too sooted up so I need something stronger.

Auto sol every weekend keeps them looking Like they should mate....

I've been using baby wipes to clean after most (not all drives) followed up regularly with the Britemax polish and sealant combo. Despite that (and trying various other metal polishes with 0000 fine wire wool) i still have mottling on the two inner pipes which admittedly is only visible on close inspection but is ****** annoying to me !

I also use Autosol once a month and wash every week with no issues and have noticed that as the miles pile on. The sooting is almost neglible.....use Shell V power with no ethanol added and that might be a reason for the cleaner tips?

I notice that as well, 13K miles now and the exhausts hardly soot up, running BP Ultimate as that is the only 97 you can get in NI.

Promised a before and after of my heavily soiled S3 tips.

don't need any fancy chemical. Just use the backside of a scotch brite sponge and some soapy water

I have some of the ‘dragons breath’ for the alloys. I squirts twice into each pipe before doing the alloys and then power washing off. It loosens all the soot off and once rubbed down, they gleam

After every wash I wipe the pipes over with a wet cloth and spray a little WD40 on them. I wash the car weekly and they clean up easily with the damp cloth. If they do get a bit grubby after a long journey I use a little bit of 10-15 year old Carplan chrome cleaner.

The WD40 really stops the soot from sticking

Mine are pitted unfortunately. I got the car with 12k on the clocks and the tips were ruined. Audi wouldn’t cover them under their warranty unfortunately and it’s £130 or so to replace them
