got sad at selling the RS3 so decided to add a weekend car to the garage.
Bought this 2013 Performamce pack C63 the other week, I've had hot hatches all my life so decided I needed to experience a thumping V8, it's a lot different to what I'm used to especially the instant grip in the RS3 but in the dry it's nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be.
It feels very solid inside compared to the RS3 but obviously not as nice, the biggest difference is the relentless speed, in all my hot hatches with turbos the power delivery is great but I've never realised just how lumpy the delivery is until I booted this thing down the motorway, it pulls no different at 120 mph than it does at 20 mph, where a hot hatch might be getting breathless this thing is just getting going.
I wasn't expecting so much positive attention for it people seem to love it, much to do with the exhaust note, I thought I couldnt top the RS3 for noise but get this thing in a tunnel and it's down right anti social lol

I know exactly what you mean by this. I had a C5 RS6 and it was a monster on the motorway, whereas the RS3 does run out of steam a bit.

I had one in front of me last week and as you say the noise was incredible. Hard to describe but a bit like thunder going off!

Nice! I just sold my C63 507 edition coupe and ordered a FL RS3. The C63 is superb but not a daily driver imo. If you're using it as a weekend car it's perfect. For me, the RS3 was the perfect alternative for use every day, all year round.

Very nice mate! Try out some decats for even more noise and power ha ha :)

Very nice. Just not right for me and my family.

I've never had an AMG car but have always been a fan. The new C63 shape is growing on me a lot.
I would have got the AMG A45 but just felt the RS3 trumped it in most departments.

One of the very best cars I have ever heard was an AMG Mercedes albeit the one that led out the F1 cars at Hockenheim :)

C63s AMG is a great car, especially tuned. Not sure how the non-s differs.

Don't rate M-B post 1995. Too bling and low rent IMHO. Sorry but hope you return to Audi soon.

You’ve got to love the sound of a C63!!

Yes but not a lot else to love about M-B. Sorry I think they lost the plot 20+ years ago when Chrysler took over and nowadays compete in the Company car bling market. Friend has a GLC AMG and the finish is nowhere near as good as Audi or dare I say BMW. Bit Peugeot like!

I think Mercs have come good again the last few years. The latest E63 with switchable rear/4WD looks mega

Not convinced on the looks or quality front. Just shouts reps car or bling German taxi to me. But I do appreciate folks have differing views and yes the V8 is rather nice!

I partly agree with RGBARGEE, in terms of software and that tablet screen they are way behind. iDrive and MMi is better, no idea why Audi got the tablet screens for A4/A5 and hopefully the touchscreen focus on new A8 doesn't come onto the other cars (at least I hope they improve it). The E/S class with the dual screens is nice though, the seats are also generally good, touch and finish of the interior could use some work but not too far behind. I do like the E63 AWD/RWD tech, I think BMW are putting it on the new M5 too so hopefully Audi follow suit even though I doubt they would.

The tech to switch between RWD and 4WD is great. If Audi don't follow BMW and Merc then I can see them losing customers. I for one would like a car that could switch between the two.

Mercedes are a tale of 2 half’s for me at the moment as after years of designing extremely ugly cars they seem to have got their act together. The new C Coupe is a very good looking car. Reviews seem to love their interior but they look cheap to me and I don’t like the design of the huge dash at all and that’s before we get to the cheap aftermarket looking tablet stuck to the dash!

I’d be interested to drive a C 43 Coupe though they look great and the 60/40 rear bias 4WD sounds promising

Careful @D0C you'll do yourself an injury in RWD only ;)

You've gone the opposite way to me. My other half has had a C63 estate as a daily for the past 5 years and just ordered an RS3 to replace it with.

I thought the E class coupe I sat in was very, very nice. Updated interior.
I would have the AMG GT over the R8 - but mostly over the range, I would take Audis each time.

The GT(R?) is a monster though @Evotion !!

Would love the R but getting expensive and might be too 'track orientated' for road comfort.
I only live 2 miles from Brooklands Mercedes. I go there about once a month and they always have one in there.
****** awesome looking car. Probably my favourite car in that price brackets before one gets up to the Huracan/488 area.

My boss had a GTS which we took to Spa and back (including a track day) in a day earlier in the year. Can think of worse cars to drive 900 miles in 24 hours.

He’s recently taken delivery of a GTR as a replacement and will be his daily driver and sits alongside a Lava Orange GT3RS

Jeezuz, that is a nice car garage for track enthusiasts - to say the least! Wow.

What a great day out! My kinda day..

Yeah, nice - Silver with black - the racing livery.
I really like this car, so much better looking that the SLS with that ****** dodgy back-end.

I wish McLaren were still partners as I would have loved to have seen a Mac version of this GT. Would have been right up there...
