What a load of w**k. Wouldn't have bothered if I'd realised, it just looks half finished now :rage:

Well if it's a fairly cheap part I'll have a go at chopping it and sitting it on top of existing cover for aesthetics

Well I've been pretty inactive for a while now and even considered leaving the fold a while back but a new born stopped my new car dream. Anyway I'm happy to say I actually own my car now, loan all paid off so an extra few hundred squid to spend each month on the car. Oh, wait a minute, another offspring on the way, ********!

Congrats Steve, new little one on the way is nice to hear. Plenty of time for changing the car. :) x

Nope, personal circumstances mean my wife gets the shiny new car for family stuff so no point in me having a decent one as it seems a waste of money just driving it too and from work! I'll be going to an old banger and banking what ever money I get from the sale. No idea what it's worth but a good spec and about 20k spent all in (including purchase price) over 5 years makes this one a pretty good sample!

Reasearching values at the moment, think I'm going to be very disappointed!

I think maybe that's the wrong way round steve, not sure i'd give the wife and small people the decent car.......maybe get them a cheap run around to ruin..and you use the decent one for the important trips to work and back.
deffo no point banking the cash either as by the time you get around to using it other things may have already used it...small people to start with.

Give ur wife the avant and buy yourself an b5 rs4 ;)

lol I like your thinking but seriously I wouldn't want the wife driving both my daughters around in an old banger. For the greater good and all that!

you would be surprised steve what you can get for silly money these days, and i dont mean old bangers... I have seen some really nice family cars that were good spec and not that old going for silly cheap prices....

Depends what you call silly cheap rob. We originally wanted a 2-3 year old c max grand (petrol), when you do see them (rare as rocking horse...) they're ridiculous prices. We've had to swap to looking at nearly new zafira tourer, can be had for about 10k !

Ford and Opel/Vauxhal worst engines on the market by far...especialy petrol engines...I had the 1.4t for work...insignia and astra...astra blew after 80k km...insignia around 120k km...i drive a dacia logan 0.9 petrol for work and it has 140k km now...runs like new...as for child safety...personaly I would be more calm to now that the wife drives the kids in a heavy Avant with nearly 2 tones on the road with fluids and everything then a Ford or Opel...
