So iv had my AMK S3 around 18 months now. I bought it in standard form so I did the usual stage 1 stuff, cat back miltek, B5 V2.2 TIP, custom stage one remap at R-Tech, ST suspension.

After around 3 weeks after the map I started to get a misfire under boost, scanned for codes had misfire on cylinder number 1 so I changed plugs and coil packs, issue still there so I did the coilpack wiring loom. Misfire still there on cylinder number 1 so did a compression test and all was ok with that. Drove to work and on the way home it boiled up!

I got it home and decided to remove the head, I found the head cracked on 3 of the cylinders between the valves and from the valve to spark plug. Pics below.

So I decided to bite the bullet source an AGU engine and go BT :gun2:

I removed the head from the AGU and Andrew at A.L.D has done a great job with the porting and polishing.

So the guys at badger 5 currently have my AGU head and block and are doing my GT35 stroker build

I will do a full spec in my build thread but the basics are

Badger GT35 stroker
SEM intake
Supertech valves and retainers
Badger cams
FMIC
Vibra-Technics engine mounts
HPA haldex controller
FIS control
HnR anti roll bars
Superpro bushes all round
Brembo's

Also got some other bit's on the cards like full respray, flat bottom steering wheel, 8p gearstick.

Looking forward to getting the car back up and running!

Shaun

Nice car & spec mate, Always thought blue with the blue interior was the best colour

Sounds like it will be a handful when done

Soooooo after all this hard work. Getting the bodywork in good shape, having the seats re trimmed.... I'm very sad to report I have decided i will be breaking the car watch out for some tasty parts in the for sale section!!! I might try putting up a classified add for the whole car first as it would be a shame to break it really. Not sure anyone will want to fork out 10k ish for an old S3 tho

I know SK I saw your ad and i thought the same, sometimes these things need to be done. My heart isn't in it at the min and hasn't been for a good while. Plus other life stuff needs priority, its only a car :racer:

I think we have all been there... I have been close to selling mine on a number of occasions... she needs a full respray now really to sort out all the age and sh*te repair related paintwork and I can't really motivate myself to sort the cash out for it as I'd rather spend it on lenses lol..

Good day Man

I really can't imagine how hard this must be for you buddy. I am so sorry this is SAD . Wat is it going to take not to breakup your car. Is there no other way? Can't we create a funding account or sponsor account. I will be happy to donate just to keep you together i know it is just a car but there is so many hours spend on the car blood sweat and tears .I don't want to speak out of place but i think other members will do the same.

Thanks for the kind words :) it is tough but it definitely feels the right thing for me to do, for me personally. I don't enjoy the car like I should (sounds bonkers I know) plus other factors. It's only a car at the end of the day :)

too fast for you? :) best of luck - its a shame you are considering breaking it up - when it is only just finished.

Or lack of traction. I have to say there is a lot of gear changing involved be s3. When I had bikes I changed from a bandit 600 to gsx 1100 so that I could go from 15 to 90 in a few seconds without changing from 3rd instead of changing every two seconds.

Make a turbo charged a Suzuki gsx 1100f
0-155 in 10 seconds for £2k

You may not have the car mate, but you'll always have the memories.Just like an organ donor it will live on and enhance so many others in the future.
