Hi guys

As the title suggests, I need to change my windscreen replaced asap as my MOT is due soon

I have a few quotes online from AutoGlass and a few other places but they all seem overpriced for a just a windscreen

The cheapest quote I have had was 220 from some dodgy website and I won't trust them in million years

My car is A3 Sportback 8p2

I Have attached a pic of the crack, it's not repairable and it's in zone B

Thanks

I don't really wanna do it through insurance as it's not really worth it
When it comes to renewal my premium will go up too

I just want to know which companies are most reputable and possibly any price if they have don't this recently

Cheers

windscreen claims don't effect your renewal

Not sure where you're based but my friend with a 3dr s3 used a private guy who charged 120, i need mine changed too and he also quoted me 120 for my sportback. He's based in london, not sure how far out he goes but can give you his number if you want

you won't get OE glass that cheap, the screens are sold from Audi, on my A6 it was over £400 just for the glass

it's worth asking your insurer

Thanks, good shout on that mate
Will ask however for that price it's probably something as good as OE
The othe thing is despite paying 220 or 360 quid to AutoGlass I guess all of them use the same none OE glass, they just have different rates

i recently had mine replaced through my insurance by autoglass, they turned up with non OE glass so i sent them away, was annoying as it took another week for them to get a genuine screen from audi

Oh I see, damn that's bad specially when you expect it to be done

Did they compensate you for the lateness

The reason I'm not after doing it through my insurance it's because I know for a fact that glass would cost me fortune sometime down the line because it's still counted as 1 claim and when I'm about to get new quote for my insurance from other insurers then that plays really bad against it

They gave me £20 back lol but then again a new screen only cost me £50 :)

You don’t declare windscreen claims when renewing, just ask your insurer what the deal is with them, talking to them won’t cost you anything
