Bad radio reception

Since I've had the car it has suffered with a bad radio reception. After recently swapping out the head unit it is no better really.
I've read the aerial is in the back window and sometimes can suffer with a bad/ dirty connection?
Any pictures or ideas how to repair??

The coax becomes damaged in the bootlid rubbers, it's common on b6/7 cabs.

If it's this, then needs coax repairing.

Whereabouts are you located.
