Hi all ,
I have just purchased Audi a6 2.0tdi le mans s line 2010 170bhp full service and 55K miles I just wanted to know If anybody has had experience with this car and reliability etc first impressions are it's fantastic compared to my Vauxhall insignia I have just px and pick it up Tuesday

I've got same motor and can only speak for myself here.

Had 2005 A4 B6 before and this C6 now I have is much better, more reliable and specious car definitely.
Have nearly 90k on it and engine is still great (touch wood).
Had it remaped, dpf gutted and egr blanked. Difference in power and economy is noticeable.
Clutch is a bit weak but I don't use the car for racing. Well ... maybe sometimes

Didn't had any major works to do and hopefully I will not.
Replaced brake pads and discs on all four corners and just about to do second oil service during my 15k ownership.

I had one previous owner also but with 77k on the clock when purchased. Cam belt was already replaced then.
If yours wasn't done yet, I would advise to do it. Even with such a short milage, rubber parts can deteriorate and should be replaced every 5 years. Even if no signs of big usage is shown.

Apart from all that, I had a coolant leak from one of the O rings near the oil filter but nothing big.
Also had to replace clutch master cylinder as it started to leak in to the footwell. Easy peasy and job done.
Car drives like a dream.

Recently done few trips to Stanstead Airport and the car just glide on the motorway. Cruise control with 70mph only sniff's the diesel. As for the distance, it wen't well and mpg is decent.

If you look after her, she will appreciate it and will be good for you

Good luck with it

I did want a remap as I have been Told I will get about 220bhp but don't want to damage the clutch does your slip then or just don't feel very strong?

All I managed to haggle from the seller is few £££ off for the brakes.
Good that they going to change the lot for you.

My clutch was slipping after remap. Setting off from traffic lights on 1st and 2nd gear was like a rocket. 3rd and 4th gears had slipping problem.
Had about 210bhp but had to be reduced and torque brought down to avoid faster clutch wear.
Now is all fine although I didn't checked it for long time now.

Read somewhere or here that Bose sound system isn't that great as they say it is compare to standard one fitted. Said that, I personally haven't heard Bose to compare but standard is fine.
If you're an audiophile, you'll pick up things. If you're not and just want it to be bit louder, consider upgrading the speakers and amp on new car.

I'm going to create a new thread here for the upgraded amp or sub as thinking about it.
Had an additional 12" sub in the boot of my A4 with parcel shelf sub off and stock rear amplified sound system. It was loud and sounded much better. Had an aftermarket head unit and all properly wired up.
If you turned the boot sub off and switched to the parcel shelf one, sound was dull and not as clear.

I'm missing it now and regretting selling that sub so cheap( £50 with amp)

I have had the my 168bhp 2010 A6 Spec Ed (S Line) saloon, auto, done 60k for 1 year now.

Love the car, very comfy, not had any trouble at all. Plenty of room for everyone. Could do with a remap but you can't have everything on a limited budget.

The only niggles I have is condensation in the rear lights, sound system could be better and if I could use exterior LED's for numberplate and reverse lights then it would have perfect. I have tried loads of different ones but get warning lights or they flash occasionally.

Mine has not had the NoX emissions update and I will not be getting it done. I do a lot of short journeys with some long and not had any EGR or DPF issues but I do only run Shell V Power and it gets a motorway run every weekend.

Every 2 months I put some "Forte Diesel Cleaner" through with half a tank of fuel through the system as it sometimes gets a lumpy idle when cold. After running it through it ticks over nicely on idle, pulls strong etc. Its great stuff. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272756563652

I run the nuts out of mine pretty much every day and I have not had any issues. Solid car.

I would definitely buy another one if something happens to my one but would go for the 3.0tdi quattro next time around.

@Mark prince , does the LIQUI MOLY DIESEL PURGE really work that well, that you can hear the difference in engine's noise?
You just pour it into the full tank of diesel and that's it? Seen videos's just now, that you need to run it from the fuel filter.

Had my car also remapped and I'm sure the engine would've benefit from that treatment.
Also thought of Terraclean but need to dig into it deeper.

I highly recommend the Forte Diesel Cleaner and BG244k. I have used both and it sorted out the rough idle. I used to stop at the lights in D or N and it would jump up and down like it was a miss fire. Ever since I have used those products its ticks over lovely and I have not had any issues plus the MPG is better and starting up is a lot better.

The forte apparently is identical to the BG244k and only cost's £10 off ebay.

All I did was let my tank run to about 10 miles left and put it into fuel tank and it's runs smoother and drive for a few miles down the motorway giving it some throttle

Cheers lads. Will give it a go on either of the products. Don't have any problems with the engine (touch wood) but as a precursion.
