Well the old bus is back and all the rear wheel arch work was done but not at all happy with the quality of the work to be honest.
All looked Ok when I picked it up but it was wet, so when I got home and washed it down again the quality , or lack of it became all to apparent.
the actual repairs were ok, it was the lack of care and just slap happy workmanship that spoilt the job, loads of dull paints areas that had not been buffed properly and left very poorly, loads of dust inside the car where it had not been covered etc, a few extra scratches on parts that were not there to start with....so all in very unhappy on that front.
I am going to get on the phone first thing Monday to complain in my very harshest terms, anyway I was so naffed of with It I spent all afternoon polishing and buffing the whole car myself , it is a lot better now but I should not have needed to do it.
To be honest as much as it was a pain to spend time doing the polishing I think it was the best plan as taking it back again to be put right will probably just add fuel to the fire and i'll be getting even more naffed off with them , so i'll have a good old moan at them and see if I get some sort of goodwill refund of something and leave it there.
so a few picky 's of it this evening, not really david bailey quality but it doesn't look to bad for a 12 year old bus.

It's looking excellent Rob. You can tell it's a well loved car. Sorry to hear you weren't happy with the repair. Hopefully they will compensate you in some way. :)

Thought the work was being done on a goodwill to start witnh Rob?

it was all done under the 12 year corrosion warranty so cost me nothing martin ,but that's not the point, the quality of work should have been first rate wether It was a warranty job or me paying out....I should not have had to spend all afternoon sorting out poor workmanship from there dept.
I could have left it but I just had to do something as it looked really naff and a few friends also commented on it...anyway, i'll make my discontent very clear and see what transpires from there, to be honest i'm glad the job has been done albeit lacking in the quality control dept , it would have been nice if it had been done properly in the first place though.

A big Aston Martin approved bodyshop did the same to me when I paid them £780 to fix my mk4 Golf. They'd obviously given it to the work experience lad because they didn't give a **** about an old Golf. When a friend in the trade saw it he was speechless.

well I rarely name & shame a company but hey, in this instant I think it is more than justified.
Fast Lane Paint and Body, and they do all my local audi dealer bodywork....
there advert, in reality they don't live upto the hype .

I think its important to name and shame as this seems to happen all to often same with repairs being done for no reason or way over priced.
With the paint shop my worry is there are some many audi approved how do they get this approval.

How did you manage to get it done for free? My dealer wont budge on the 70/30 split. Also what offset are your wheels?

I simply made the situation clear from the start and as to what I was expecting from audi, also had it in writing from the audi main dealer I bought the car from , audi looked at it and were quite happy to do it all under the warranty & never questioned it not being covered so all done gratis.
Alloys are an ET35 offset.

Thanks rob Mine wasnt purchased from a main dealership however going to ask the question

well, just had the whole car refinished and that's another problem dealt with, bodyshop put there hands up and admitted they had made a messup and rectified the problem so all ended well.
