I have heated leather seats on my 3dr 8P.

Was just wondering whether fully electric seats i.e movement were ever available for this model ?

Yup... cant give you the product codes but I've seen 8p's with electric seats. Few and far between though. Looking to retro fit these on mine but cant find the parts anywhere :(

Thanks. I'm assuming you can take parts from other Audi 3drs to make up a shopping bag of parts, which cant be as rare.

actually 8p never got electric seats in catalogue, but you can upgrade from a5 sportback.

Audi did so many variations, but I have seen A3s with full electric adustment + electric lumbar support and heating too.

Same Problem arises with the Golf R Electric Seats not an Option on the 3 Door I got an Electric Drivers Seat from a 5 Door MK5 GTi and was going to have it reupholstered to match the passenger seat (Never got round to it and got the Std Seats back in now) By only changing the Drivers Seat I was still able to have access to the Back Seats from the Passenger Side Tilting but anyone wanted to climb in/out from the Drivers Side made it extremely Difficult. So If you do want Electric Seats you may find some 5 Door S3/RS3 ones for sale and either just change 1 or make sure your Rear seat Passengers are contortionists.

So RT (or anybody) could you fit full electric on a 3DR Audi using a 5DR as a donor ?

The Seat Rails are no problem (5 Door Seats won't Tilt Forward for rear access) but not sure if you'll have the power for the Electrics if you want to use the Heating element as well (May need to run separate fused power supply for the Electric movement) My mate used the power from the heating source when fitted in my Golf so lost the Seat Heating (Which I wasn't worried about) and also fitted resistors to Airbag socket so no lights were showing on dash although think Vagcom would probably get round this as you would be putting in Same Series Seats whereas I was putting mk5's in a MK6.

Looks as if it was just the 5 DR Sportback, according to this 2008 Audi catalogue:
https://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/audi/production/PDF/UsedCars/Refresh/A3/A3 and S3 range - June 08.pdf
What it says: "Bucket seats (front) in Fine Nappa leather upholstery. Includes first aid kit and through-load system. (Not available in conjunction with electric lumbar support or storage pack). is basically copy-paste of page 36 inside document posted, and it says: "Electric front seats, with adjustment for height, forwards and backwards position and backrest angle. Must be combined with through-load system, Electric Climate Control and electric lumbar support. "
it says electric front seats, but is NOT saying with ELECTRIC adjustment for height so for me it seem quite playing with words more than actual feature, however there was some conversation on forum a time ago and someone says that electrically controlled seats weren't available for a3... but obviously I can be wrong.

Looking at your other post It seems to say Available on Sportback models only which I think you'll find is the same as the 8V Brochure making it not an option on the 3 Door Models.

My original question was ... (having confirmed that only the Sportback front seats were available fully electric from the link I posted)

So RT (or anybody) could you fit full electric on a 3DR Audi using a 5DR as a donor ?

ie strip the donor seat down of the relevant components and rebuild the three door front seat back up ?

Has anyone done this or, do we just go down the A5 3dr swap ?

just go for a5 3dr swap as faster and more efficient than stripping 4 seats down for putting in the mechanism (2 donor and 2 that you got now)

My Mate looked into it on the Golf Seats and after stripping it down found that the Forward and Back Motor would have been possible but the Reclining was proving to difficult to change over so I stuck with a 5 Door Drivers seat in a 3 Door Car and pretty sure the S3 will be the same as the Golf.
