Hi,

About to place an order for a Audi S4 saloon. Currently drive an S3 saloon but feel they are very dated inside now.

This is my spec. Any items which you feel are musts? Any that I don't really need?

Mythos Black
19" V Spoke Diamond Cut Alloys
Light and Vision Pack
Comfort and Sound Pack
Driver Assistence Tour Pack
Parking Assistence Pack Advanced
Carbon Atlas Inlays
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
Privacy Glass
Red Brake Capilers
Heads Up Display

Managed to get £8700 off the car. Is that a good discount as I know there are good deals to be had out there at the moment

I'm also moving from an S3 Saloon, S4 is a great upgrade in terms of size (needed in my position), quality and tech compared with the PFL S3.

I've gone very heavy on spec, similar to yours but with panroof, sport diff and adjustable dampers. Plan to keep this car a good while so didn't want to under spec it from what I want from the car.

They seem to be well spec'd anyway and you've got some good options.

I wanted to maximize the handling as coming from the S3 I wanted to ensure handling was sharp and still offered some fun factor around the twisty's!

Really looking forward to the V6 noise the most though, always been disappointed with the S3 in that respect, otherwise it's been a great car but just need the space of the Avant now.

I've decided against the comfort and sound pack - the parking pack already has 360 degree cameras and I'd worry the advanced key makes the car easier to steal! Hill hold assist & B&O are worth speccing separately though, imo.

Have you considered the storage pack (adds a few cubbies), and/or memory seats?

Flat bottomed wheel should be standard on a MY18.

Only in Germany I believe

B&O is a must, the standard sound is rubbish. Don't know if storage is included In those packs you have, without it there is none, it also adds rear cup holders. Pano roof on mine (Avant) brightens the interior a lot.

The advanced key can be 'made' to talk to the car from a distance, the standard key cannot, I believe, this makes entry very easy to those who know how.

Better they have your car this way than come into the house... if they really want it, they're gonna get it. You did great with discount Burnsa - I got just under 6K off my Avant ... virtually identical options (most boxes ticked ..) .

Yes, but no point in making it too easy. The sort of thief who's prepared to break in probably wouldnt bother checking if the car's keyless anyway. I suspect the type who steal keyless cars would go elsewhere if they couldn't break in that way - plenty of other targets.

I don't know about Audi but at one point keyless Range Rovers we're so easy to steal it was hard to insure one!

I will be the only one driving the car so am I right in think the memory seats would be pointless ?

Probably, apart from when you take it for servicing. Depends how long it takes you to find the right seating/mirror position really.

My OCD hates my seat position been moved, which is why I have seat memory.
Also means I can try slight alterations to position then default back if I don't like it.
It takes me a while to find the seat setting sweet spot.
As said above, if it goes into the workshop they'll change the set settings

I have to make regular overseas flights, so for valet parking, it's a real pain whenever you get back in the car and have to adjust back to preferred driving position... memory button solves that

Does any body have any pictures of the carbon inlays ? I've always had piano black , but quite a bit of the area around the gear lever is covered in the s4 isn't it ? Can see that being a scratch hazard. Also anyone used there s4 saloon to carry bikes ? Maybe a stupid question but can this be done on the roof ?

Interesting - what don't you like about the light & vision pack? Lots of people rave about matrix lights and vc so curious what you think of them.

Parking pack advanced - it's disappointing Audi dropped the cheaper parking pack this year as I'm only interested in the surround cameras, but I still plan to order it. If the cameras save you one or two kerbed alloys in a tight car park they're worth it imo!

I have a head up display in my A6 and while it's not essential I still find it very useful. Definitely a "nice to have".

I Have the light and vision pack and whilst the matrix lights are good they aren't that great. The VC however is brilliant and worth £200 bought separately!
The Rear camera is great and I think is in the comfort and sound pack (it is on S5) Park plus and camera is enough for me!
Just don't like heads up displays. Personal thing.
Good luck!!

These are two I took of an S5 convertible in my local dealer a while back. Don't know about the scratching but I can't imagine they could ever be as bad as the piano black. I hope not anyway since I have it spec' don mine!

I've never had a problem with Piano Black and scratching!!

In my B8.5 I cleaned it with a microfibre and it scratched it a few times even when I was being careful! Haha.

Intrigued as to why you aren't keen on the light and vision pack

I do admit a few of my options are just nice to haves , like red calipers

The £8700 is including the Audi deposit contribution. Do you think there's more to be had?

The light and vision pack is every penny especially if you drive a lot at night time away from street lamps, the matrix headlamps are a wonder to behold watching them switch on and off....

Sounds like a right chew!
