I had my A4 in for an Air Con service yesterday as it was blowing hot air.
After a quick look, the mechanic told me the AC gas was practically full and he topped it up. He said the problem is the AC is not being engaged. With the AC button on it still blows ambient air and the pipes are both hot and not one hot, one cold.
Can anyone shed any light on the potential cause. It's a bit warm for no AC.

I know the aircon relays were always packing up on the Honda Civics. Does the aircon pump engage when you press the button?

My aircon is proper **** compared to previous motors, had it re-gassed recently as well.

Based on the fact the noise around the engine does not change, I'm going to say no. Is there an easier way to find out?

the air con pressure sender switch is a common one. If you run a diagnostics it will show a fault code if its the air con pressure sender. I think there about £60 from audi and take about 5 minutes to fit very easy.

If system integrity and correct fill has been confirmed, best bet is to get the HVAC module scanned for faults.

My brother in law ran a diagnostic to which he recommended I buy a pressure sensor. Hopefully fit this weekend and fingers crossed it works.
