Will it have automatic lights when unlocking?

Hi guys, I've seen a really nice Audi A3 for sale and I have been looking for one that had the panoramic sunroof and heated seats for a long time. Only problem now is that after getting the spec list from Audi, they're the only two optional extras it has. It doesn't even have the comfort pack like a lot the of others have, my question is, can I retrofit the automatic wipers and lights into the car? Also, as the car is now, would it turn on the headlights upon unlocking the car by key?

If the car in question does not have Auto lights then you would not have the coming home / leaving home lights feature and a good number of 2013 and 2014 cars did not have this from the factory. If you have access to photos of the car you are thinking of buying you can tell it if has Auto Lights, and wipers from the following:

if the light switch has an AUTO position
40060

If the car has a rain light and humidity sensor
40061

And 9 times out of 10 you will have auto lights / wipers if you have an auto dimming mirror

If the car in question does not have Auto Lights and Wipers then a retrofit is possible, which is actually one of my most popular mods. Feel free to send me a message for pricing.

Wow, thanks DJAlix! Yeah, the car definitely doesn't have the auto lights feature as I've just had a look at the light switch and there's no auto mode in the photos. It's a 13 plate funnily enough, quite a weird spec seeing as the comfort pack wasn't all that expensive when it was new but the sunroof costs around £1000. There's no way of checking the humidity sensor though as car is 250 miles away and I can only judge from the photographs. I think I'm going to pass to be honest, can't justify spending all that money and then not even having basics such as parking sensors, cruise control or auto lights/wipers.
 
That car might have started life as a dealership floor model. I had a PFL one of these which had Fine Nappa Leather, Pano Roof, Folding Mirrors and 19" alloys but no Auto Lights and Wipers. Strange that they spec's the expensive options but not Auto Light and Wipers or a Dimming Mirror.

Auto Lights and Wipers and Dimming Mirror = a pretty straight forward retrofit. Things like rear parking sensors, MMI with 7" screen etc are more involved. I would hold out for a vehicle with a better spec also to be honest.

Hi mate, do you know roughly how much I could expect to pay for the auto lights and rain sensor retrofit? Just looking at the car again, it's got everything I need apart from these two options! Parking sensors are easy enough to get fitted and cruise control can be fitted at a later date.

The picture you checked for the AUTO light switch position... was this the switch that was in the vehicle?

I need to know what additional controls it might have i.e. front / rear fogs, range control etc

Cannot speak or other companies but with the AUTO version of that light switch I can supply, fit and code Auto Lights and Wipers for £285 at the moment.

wow thats cheap mate! Do you have a price list at all for other mods you do? i know it varies quite a bit so don't worry if not!

Prices on application for the moment as parts costs and currency rates change daily. I like to pass any savings on to my customers :)

Mate I have the same issue with the wifes car would love to know if it can be done and retrofitted for her. She often drives with no lights on because her last audi had them as standard. Cna you help please
