Ok my head unit has seen better days the cd changer has given up and I would like more functionality.
I use android phones and would like built-in Bluetooth and satnav. I have been looking at the pumpkin ones on Amazon but the reviews look pretty bad. I only want to spend £300 ish.

What are my options? What do others use?

Thanks in advance.

I'm looking into the android ones on eBay.. again had mixed reviews on them. But they offer a oem look which is what I'm going for.

I've got a pioneer HU ready to go in that's Bluetooth so I can hook it up to Spotify on my phone.. Bit of a faff with charging cable but otherwise good.. I did try installing but wasn't getting power :(

I would personally look for a used well known make of head unit rather than one of those eBay units you speak of, I use a Kenwood DNX, full European Garmin sat nav, Bluetooth, DVD player and full iPod control although I use the Bluetooth to stream all my music including DAB from my phone, I also have the optional Digital t.v. tuner fitted. Fits nicely in the dash too.

Which model you using dude? Got a photo of it fitted ?

I use an older DNX-5240BT, the newer versions have a slightly bigger screen.

Interested in this myself tbh - I think in the short term I'm going to hack an Aux input into the tape deck using the L R and G pickups.

Longer term I'd like something that was display an external video source and reversing camera (perhaps an interrupt switch when reverse light is on) so I can have an all in one solution to output my Raspberry Pi to.

How do people find the stereos with less tactile options?

That looks great Matt but second hand one's are still quite expensive. I'm always worried that I'm going to end up getting someones problems.

The only issue and reason I'm not going this route is the legal aspects if they want to be strict/harsh and class it as a phone and give you 6 pts.

Hands free - or with Android Auto there's lots of voice commands.

It's certainly an option for OP - I think I want to go integrated and currently liking the £200 Pumpkin android units.
