I live in Hull. Which is 50 minutes away from the car in Grimsby.
Speaking to my salesman today he said the car will be at the dealers before Friday and he's going to try get me in it for Friday. The GAP is scheduled to start on Friday.
It's frustrating. But I guess I can't really do much about it.

to the forum Yes - it's fair to say the exciting about pending car arrivals is high in this thread! Like you say, it's nice to be able to share your excitement with people who don't mind it! As you can see, the order process is somewhat of a mixed bag, and your experience seems to be based on solar alignment and the length of your big toes nail!

Thanks for the welcome. As I say, order was placed mid January, so 5 months so far, with a build to commence next week. Expecting that it'll be with me mid June. Fortunately life is fairly busy so have been to able to be occupied with other things than just wondering where the order is at...although that hasn't stopped me logging in to the tracker every day

Well I got a surprising call early from the dealers. Car has actually arrived today!! So now my collection date is Monday!

Ah, I get you now, a bit like when they building houses, the builders are in a rush to get to the pub on a Friday and make a mess and doing point the brickwork properly and in no fit state to do the job again on a Monday. Lol.The eye on the clock on a Friday, things get rushed and quality was not exactly on the agenda (if it ever was)
...certainly things have changed these days with automotive production - automation and built in quality controls being major factors of course
