Just asking for a friend , he's looking to change the engine due to timing belt failure , and is asking if there's another engine code he could use instead of the bfb engine , are most interchangeable or would it need same
Engine code putting in !!
anything pretty much straight swap for the old one basically

What damage has been done? If the pistons haven't been damaged (ie just valves bent) you could just fit another head.

He's not stripped it yet , but was thinking of just swapping it out for another complete unit

Personally I would take the head off first, nothing to lose, everything to gain. If there's no piston damage you're laughing.
