Picked up my 2016 (first half of year) A6 at the weekend and since driving to
Work yesterday I have a couple of questions re the satnav that hope someone might be able to help me with?

The first is very strange as I loaded in some custom addresses via Audi connect and when I chose my office I drove off and approx 100 miles later I thought it was odd the route it was taking and only when it said I was 1 mile away did I realise it was actually 11 miles away from where it should be (it was very early in the morning so I didn't notice earlier) so I clicked back into destinations and the address was correct so when I chose that option it directed me to the correct location but when I chose the postcode option (which was the correct postcard) it took me to another town 11 Miles away ????!!! Also I noticed my home postcode on the actual mmi tells me my address is in a different town (3 miles away) but does actually take me to my home address????

The other question is re the traffic and rerouting capabilities of the Audi Nav - I have always used tomtom live traffic and love how it tells you how much of a delay and options to avoid traffic jams etc. It seems the Audi has some sort of traffic option as on my way home it told me it was rerouting me to avoid traffic but I could only see traffic delays by clicking on the traffic button and then scrolling to see how much of a delay there was rather than a general display of delay time on route etc so not sure how 'clever' the system is to avoid traffic delays?

Any info on either of the above 'quirks' would be very much appreciated

Not sure about your crazy routing, but for the proper Google traffic data, it needs to be online with a SIM card / bluetooth phone capable of RSAP (i.e. in CarPhone mode, NOT Handsfree mode) - supported on Samsung phones (certainly the S2, S3, S4, S5) and an increasing number of other flagship Android phones (e.g. last year's LG G5). Apple have said they'll never support it, so iOS users need to get a 2nd phone contract or jailbreak their phones.

Once you have that ("ONLINE" in the lower left corner), then you'll see all routes in red/amber/green status and it will offer to reroute you around traffic jams (occaisionally)... and the time estimates are also more accurate (i.e. the same as you'd see on Waze/GoogleMaps since they all work off the same data).

Does your sat nav show your accurate current location? If no, it could be faulty GPS antenna. Common problem with our A6's. I had to change mine within 30 days of purchase but gladly it was under warranty.

Yep all fine just the strange difference between postcode and address info within the nav itself
