3rd line under car?

Hi all,

Under the car I have 3 fuel lines, 2 are going to be the fuel lines to and from the engine but the 3rd is coming from the engine and is open ended, stops just before the other 2 go up to the tank.

Can anyone tell me what this 3rd line is for and where in the engine it leads to?

It may not be the same but my Q7 3.0tdi has a hose that is the same as a fuel line coming off of the exhaust pressure sensor and this is also open ended ! I had a chat with a tech at Audi and he said that's how they are on the Q7 some are connected on other models and others arnt. I only noticed when I replaced the sensor.

Thanks for the reply, definitely not coming from the exhaust though.

I'm losing petrol from mine, I'm guessing somethings blocked somewhere but no idea what?
