Hi.

Both my front windows wont open. Can hear the motor running but nothing happens and i can lower and shut the window using my hands.

Took apart passenger side and recorded the sound.

From your expierence peeps. Does this sound like a faulty motor or the regulator?

Here is a video

I would appriciate any info before i take apart whole door.

Regulator failure, for sure. The cable's bust.

I've got a passenger's front regulator, if you need one.

BTW. You can get good regulators on eBay, not saying it's always the case, but I have £22 eBay regs on both my front windows that are now 3 & 4 yrs old.
Even on ECP they're £70ish each, shudder to think how much they are from Audi.
No issues so far & they looked exactly the same in every detail to the OEM ones they replaced.
Not the easiest job to replace, but from memory it only took me about an hour & a half to do the 1st time, definitely quicker & easier 2nd time round.

Ive just phoned up Audi and they want £116 for it.
I'm thinking about ebay one but after reading all the forums loads of ppl complain they go bust after couple months.

Much you want for your Nollywood? And which one is it? Ebay/oem?

Mine is an OEM Audi item, it's still in the door. £28.95 inc. postage.

Use the parts request system, I've had 2 genuine ones off Mike for about £90 delivered a side.

Had an ebay one, lasted a year....

For now ill leave it as it is. Will go with genuine one soon. But first got to save up for more important stuff like cat back exhaust from pipe dynamics :)
