Hello boys and girls from sunny Huddersfield.

Hope you are all well.

Joining this forum to do my research for a B7 and hopefully when I sell my current car (2004 Nissan 350z), I will be able to make an informed purchase

Here pics of my current daily car

Initially wanting a S4 or RS4 Avant for it's massive V8 and performance, this is definitely an upgrade to the 350z. However the sensible side of me says a diesel B7 Avant will do what I needed perfectly :(

Will have a good read in this forum on the various diesel engines available, which model has Quattro?, tax brackets (seen on advertised as £30 tax annually and the others were around £185 ish), common problems that I need to watch out for before purchase (making sure previous owner has already fix them), service intervals and what should already been done at certain mileage .

Plenty of questions to answer :) would be great if you guys can point me to the correct direction.

Thanks, hopefully I will own an Audi soon.

Hi, welcome to Audi-sport.net. Good luck with your search for the ideal car. Maybe @THQuattro can advise you what to look out for in the rs4 chassis. (Thanks in advance Toby :) ) look forward to hearing how you get on with your search. Enjoy the forum :)

Hi Veegee and welcome, i always look at the 350,s they have a nice shape especially when dropped.
I have 3 A4 Audi,s which are a B6 S4 Cab in black which is a lovely car with a V8 engine and a custom BCS exhaust which sounds the dogs but it is a money pit so you don't want one of them. The B7 3.2 V6 Quattro is a lovely car which i have had since 59k and 3 years later its done 134k and probably cost 2k in servicing which has mostly been oil servicing every 7k miles. The RS4 is the daddy to me and i know there is the RS6 but with the V8 tune with Milltek exhaust the noise is hard to beat.Mine has very low mileage and had 10k spent on it in the last two years the previous owner had it which include the Milltek exhaust with down pipes, KW V3 coilovers, disks pads and tyres, carbon clean and a stage one remap. If you have not driven one then do it asap just to experience it, i have put a Revo stage two map on it which ran 423bhp at Surrey rolling road centre.Having a Quattro car makes me feel more secure in bad weather and the do hold the road well. The RS power just does not stop, the roads over here are just not good enough for these cars but you can just poodle around town in it and most people turn to look at it. My advise on buying one is spend as much as you can with the lowest mileage and try and get all the major service bits and carbon clean done a good unmapped car can be 360 to 380bhp.
MRC can get 445 out of a good one and don't forget you only get 225 miles per tank but all those 225 miles are superb. I have seen Cat D,s for 16k with 50k miles which could be a option but have a empty credit card at the ready.
I do hope this helps.

Thanks Toby, very informative there. I'm going for a sensible option B7 2.0T Quattro for now but might change my mind when I test drive the S4 or RS4. I do love a nice V8 roar!

Ok no prob
Show us pics when you get it, if you go through the B7 section you should pick up some hints and tips .

Thanks, will have a browse there. If budget permits, might stretch to a B8. =)
