Hi helpers.
Looking to get back to my garaged Audi project, B7 (B6 chasis) 1.8t cabriolet in time for some Summer driving and looking for some answers on using a Quattro car to convert from current FWD CVT (all the fixing points are there)
Firstly, does anyone know whether a standard B6 1.8T A4 quattro saloon runs the same transmission and axle as the cabriolet?
Wiki quotes cabriolet wheelbase as being 4mm longer than the saloon, but I struggle to comprehend that the transmission would have been different.
Aware that Audi produced A4 b5 cab 1.8t quattro, but these appear to be as rare as rocking horse poop and the saloons more plentiful, however if anyone knows of a nearly whole A4 1.8t Quattro donor, that would be nice.

Have posted in the parts request section.....

This car has been in the family since new and had lots of TLC, so I have no wish to take its best parts (engine is new and forged, large valve head, custom turbo etc) and add it to another vehicle.

Hi Nagasaki,

Always interested to read your posts. Excited to see what you have in store for us! Im so tempted by stage 3-ing my car but only time will tell if i do!

Options are - GT28 route of hybrid Ko3..or even TFSI conversion to run a Ko4

With regards to a quattro donor car..I believe the 4mm difference is not important when swapping. I can only infer this as my Quattro cab is 1.8t with Engine code 'BFB' and the saloon equivalent with same engine code is exaclty the same car! Engine and all. Only difference is the chassis.

Ps. Audi definitely did not build a B5 Convertible :p
