When I start adding some power to the s3 in time I will be looking at upgrading the brakes so I have the stopping capability to handle the power lol

Iv sourced a set of 370mm wavy rs3 discs from a 2015 model but my Q is can I still run 4pots on these discs or can I fit rs4 8pots??

I know I'm going need at least 8mm spacers to fit these over my 18s but very got that covered already :)

I have just done a quick search on line and it seems the standard S3 calipers will not fit the RS3 discs...But it does seem possible to fit the whole RS3 kit to the S3...You might have issues with debris catching between the alloy and the calipers with 18" wheels though?

I think your wasting your time as the RS3 brakes a not up to standard and have had various complaints.

Go for some after market ones and you shouldn't have any worries.

RS4 standard size is 365mm on the B7, maybe the 370mm wavy might sneak in the 8pots, normally Audi make things that can be transferred across most platforms, so I reckon the RS4 8 pots should fit the newer 370mm wavy discs.
My 2 cents.

I'm going for Alcon or Forge big brakes.

I'm not going down the OEM route.

Standard s3 brakes are just single pot, probably better just getting a set of good discs and pads or just buy a complete brake kit.

I think the standard brakes are good, like you say some good discs and pads you should be fine for a while.

Those 370mm from the 8v RS3 won't just bolt up to the 8v S3, the offset is about 7mm too big:

You'll need more bits off the RS3, it starts to add up too. Instead, I'm trying the 365mm from the RSQ3, B8 RS5/RS4 next, they are -10mm in offset versus the RS3 ones. Some sites sell the 8pot RS calipers with these ones and they say it fits:

rotors: 8U0.615.301.A
brackets: 2097478800
calipers: 20.7675.02

we'll see.

What else would I need exactly? Let me know what happens with the next option!

Also is there anything I can do with rear brakes? Iv seen that some people have use lambo calipers but not on a 8v

Some think you'll also need the Bearing and Hub assembly, the Knuckle, and maybe the CV joints, from the RS3, to get those rotors to work.

Not much due to the parking brake. I saw a larger wavy rotor upgrade kit from bks-tuning though. otherwise, just pads and rotors of the same size, but that's all we need performance-wise in the rear, any more is just for show.

Let me know what happens with the next option!
It might be a few months, but I'm determined to get those 8-pot brembos the RS3s run on my S3. Mostly for looks, but also for just a bit more brake fade resilience in the canyons. I don't track the car, and have no plans to.

I have these rotors and brackets on order (already have the calipers), one additional item that was needed is 1mm washers that go between the caliper brackets and the hub. This is to perfectly center the calipers over the rotors/discs.

I'll report back after they are installed, but the shop I sourced them from said they have been fitted to an 8V S3 in Singapore and to three MK7 Rs which have the same hubs as the 8V S3.

RS5 Rotors and Caliper Brackets did the trick. The caliper bracket to hub connection just needed a 1mm washer to perfectly center the caliper with the rotor. With the OEM wheels, they needed 15mm spacers. I had 10mm before, and was worried about the tire rubbing the fender, but its not rubbing!

For the cost, why wouldn't you just look at an aftermarket solution? I have 355mm Stoptechs and they are Bolt ons. Was looking at the forge kit, but found the stoptechs used for a great price. Whatever you do, upgrade your fluid too (Motul RBF600 or better).

Took about 3 hrs to do install and fluid change. Need to upgrade pads (yellow stuff) for the track tho.

If I was upping power I would certainly look at changing the brakes as you are doing.

Coming from ap 6 pots on my frs to the standard s3 brakes; it is really like night and day.

The big brake kit that is in the sticky section looks bob on to me!

If you want to use RS3 discs you need RS3 wheel bearings.

Use TTRS 8S discs instead if you don't want to change the wheel bearings.

For rear brakes speak to @tomwrigleymotorsport for RS6 rear 356mm wavy disc
