Hi guys i have a question about the standard speakers in my Avant
Basically a few months ago I decided to get another Audi since selling my a3 8l a few years back and went for a 2.5 TDI quattro auto as I thought I wouldn't mind the auto and the diesel would keep the missus happy,
It came with the optional Bose speakers and sub which I thought was great sound quality for a 14 year old car but after a couple of months I started not to like the car as much because the gearbox was slow and it only has the black bottoms of the bumpers.
So I have now bought the one I really wanted in the first place a 1.8T quattro 190 with gmbh bumpers and all the other bits I wanted but it only has normal speakers.
I'm thinking about swapping the speakers between the 2 cars before I sell the TDI
So my question is how much of a chore is it to do that, what will I need to swap apart from the speakers and is it worth it.
I wouldn't buy the Bose speakers as IV read on here it's more cost effective to buy aftermarket but since IV got the both sitting g there it's only time it will cost
Would appreciate your advice and opinions

Well it's your time so only you can really answer. Would require removal of all door cards, the one speaker I'd worry about the most is the central speaker in the dash near the blower vents, it might be a bit of a mission.

Does the wiring loom need changing do you know if it's just plug and play speakers il probably do it.
Head unit also I take it
Thanks

Well what I'd do is remove a door card from each car and check out the connectors from that point you'll know what to do.

I think I've read it's a case of changing every speaker, HU, amp, and all the looms mate.

Bose speakers have a different impedance rating, there you need everything from the old car, HU, AMP, SUB and all of the speakers including central dash one. It's a lot of work for a bit of a gain when you could source a new set of upgraded speakers and a better HU.

If you Google the Bose speaker upgrade you will see the work involved.

Not worth the hassle, in my opinion.

Bose head units / amplifiers are also different, not just the speakers. Bose speakers are also 2 ohm impedance. If you just slap in the Bose speakers, into a non-Bose car, they'll sound like ****.

It's not an easy swap either - the connectors to the amps are also different between Bose and non-Bose.

Thanks for the advise guys yeah I agree it's too much work. I sat in both cars one after the other and the difference isn't astounding so will just get aftermarket stuff one day
