Esp and sterring wheel light on

Hi i disconnected my neg lead o my audi a3 and a steering wheel light and esp light came on dash took for a drive didnt go off
So i toik to a garage were my sin works big misstake lol they checked the system and said angle sensor they tried resetting it no joy
They he went into another program somrthing to do with angle checks reset it and came out off it
Now i have no power steering and both light on dash
Can anybody help please

So, sounds like you need to reset the steering.

Start the engine and centre the steering wheel. Let it sit dead centre without touching for at least 5 seconds.

Next turn the steering full lock to the left and hold for 10 seconds.

Next turn the steering full lock right and hold for 10 seconds.

Centre the steering again and the light should go off and the power steering will return.

As for the ESP light, once the steering is reset drive straight forward 10 metres and then reverse back the same 10 metres.
 
Thanks all wheel bearing cause abs/speed sensor to go faulty and angle sensor wouldnt re program all done 300 quid lighter lol but thanks all for advice tried everything before i toik it to a vag specialist lol

The steering angle sensor can be awkward to do. Did you disconnect the speedo cluster at all?

If you had vcds you could have programmed it yourself.
 
It wouldnt comunicate with the steering wheel angle sensor a vag specialist tried showed me wilst i was there so new one them steering all done then it showed up a speed sensor fault on stripping it down found the wheel bearing had cause damage to the speed senor/abs sensor

That was just bad luck I guess! At least you're all sorted now.

Yeah defo come back here. Might be an idea to invest in vcds if you're keeping the car for a while?

Same here, I find it interesting. I spent a lot of time on my Impreza and now have the A3 so I have to start learning all over again!
